I'm faded but have been outted as an apostate, so I can't imagine anyone inviting me... I'd only consider going if my parents invited me, which I very, very highly doubt they'd do... Otherwise I'd just say no. What are they gonna do?

What if you can't afford an iPad??? Most people don't have a lot of data they can use on their cell phones.
This is crazy.... What if you are older and don't even know how to use the internet???

How do I handle this situation?
by BarelyThere inhey everyone.
i'm sorry that this isn't a very thought provoking post but i could really use some advice on how to handle this.
there isn't anyone else in my life i can ask right now because, being dfed, all of my friends are "worldly" and don't know how witnesses function.

I am actually struggling to understand why anyone could see any advantage in presenting this information to elders.
It can be therapeutic to face things head on. However; I really like what Cangie said about it too. -

Um, I'm sure you know you're already in the wrong for having an affair while still married, and even you admit how you can see why your ex-husband has every right to be mad at you.
She came on here for support, not for judgement...
Sounds like you don’t get it.
You’re the sinner here. Put your head down and do your time.
What a piece of sh*t thing to say to someone. Go crawl back into your hole. You want to bully someone??? Then, bully me. I dare you... Don't be an a$$ h*ole to this woman looking for support...
To the op, look, it seems like you were in a crappy marriage and wanted out. Who wants to stay miserable forever? I hope you can let go of what happened and move on.
Ok, to comment on your question. If it were me, I'd switch halls, get reinstated, then print the emails, highlight the nasty things that were said, and have a mtg with them with copies for them and all the elders. Look them straight in their eyes and make them answer for it....

elders wife swapping question
by unstopableravens ini hear of these stories of elders swapping wives, i remember when i was young hearing of three elders in florida doing this and getting dfed.
my question is this how is it possible to bring this up in conversation?
it seems impossible, how can there be multi elders that know each other willing and the wives?

I could totally see this happening...
My problem is, I was born like a 1960's flower child but in a strict, religious family...
I'm forever f*cked up....

Returning
by Doubtfully Yours ini was a member of this community a long time ago and have lurked for years.
well, i am back and still thoroughly conflicted, with my heart/loyalties as divided as ever.
please welcome me back, hear me out, and make me feel as welcomed as before.. the wtbts has changed so very much in recent years that i feel trapped in a completely different religion altogether.

My basic story is that I, being a multigenerational JW, cannot emotionally handle losing my loved ones if I walk out on this religion. So, I am making the best out of this incarceration. I can honestly say that in the congregations I am not alone so we of like minds keep each other company while enduring the misery of the Organization.
My heart goes out to you completely. I understand the feeling so 100%....
You have 100% right to be happy. And you get to decide what those terms are. I will not judge you. It is a very difficult position to be in and you love people that are in.
The great thing about being out, is, you get to decice what will make you happy as a person...
I lost some family members because of being outted and the devastation is impossible sometimes.
You need to do what will make you happy. Period... I am happy that you have learned to think outside of the cult and maintain some sort of balance. I applaud and support you completely....
