Question - thoughts on explaining your fading to teachers?

weird/odd question, but with our family fading, and our daughter in school how or should one approach teachers with this?

our child is a little too young to understand why we are fading, but it proves challenging in school as they have been, well brainwashed, to say i shouldn't do that etc... .

i don't like explaining anything to teachers about the fade, etc.

This year, I just never said anything at all. Let my kid be like any other normal kid.

Last year I had to after my husband told the teachers my daughter wasn't allowed to celebrate holidays, birthdays, etc. I was LIVID he said anything. I told the teacher my daughter could partake in everything and I would talk to my husband. It was never brought up again and was never an issue.

If someone wants to go back to the cult and tell on us, I'll just say my daughter isn't baptized and to stay out of it. Why would they expect her to be held to their rules when she's not baptized anyways?

been reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.

i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.

i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.

The Witnesses Are Really Trying Hard To Get Me Back In

at my mom's bed side all i see is either jw family or friends making a concerted effort to have me return to their fold.

evidentlyy, my mom has encouraged this and i'm a trapped prisoner, as they do their best to have me come back.

it's bad enough that i have to endure my mom's dying, now i have to be bombarded with this bs..

Sad Reality...

...is that most jws don't know anything about the financial news that is happening right now.

sure it has trickled down to the elders and those who volunteer for construction but the average jw has no idea.

no one in my hall has said a thing about it.

I think as more and more of these changes become effective, slowly some will start to notice. Even though they've done layoffs, not a lot of people have actually "felt" it hit. Announcements are very different then actually feeling the effect.

Give it a few months, when these people feel the effect from having no job. They will probably be living in someone's basement, becoming a drain on that family also.

Don't they have until December to find a job? I wouldn't expect much backlash until maybe the summertime.

I also thought some of the layoffs won't be effective until August. This is just going to take a little time.

Right now, they are under the assumption Jehovah will bless this and help everyone.

List of Branch Offices and Country Offices of Jehovah's Witnesses

i'm trying to put together a comprehensive master list of watch tower society branch offices that corresponds roughly with the figure published in the worldwide report.. i feel it would be useful to monitor the number and location of existing branch offices, because i believe the distribution of branch offices worldwide is a good indicator of the society's financial wellbeing.

we now seem to be entering a period of branch office closures, with last year seeing an unprecendented 16% reduction in branch office numbers over the year before.

it will be interesting to see how things develop moving forward, but i'm hoping that by keeping a list of the offices we will be better placed to keep track of the "retreat" if branch office numbers continue to dwindle.. here we go.... .

WT Society SEC Records : Hedge Funds, Cayman Islands, Financial Losses - Links

so my wife and i were curious so i researched some financial links and found records indicating that the wt society has been operating at a loss since the year 2012. as you read the links it shows a loss of 10 million $$$ in 2012, about 16 million $$$ in 2013, and a whopping loss of 56 million $$$ in 2014 - where the expenditures exceeded the revenues for each of those years in the amount i've mentioned.

also there is a link on this same website with the sec records indicating that the wt society and it's representatives funneled 40 million $$$$ into hedge funds in the cayman islands as early as 2007. if you look online on other sites you can see evidence that indicates the wt society attended hedge fund conferences to look into more shadiness in 2011 and isn't it curious that by 2012 the wt society started showing losses.
