Embarassed at school for being a Witness - Did this happen to you?
by Witness 007 inwhen they played the national anthem everyone stood up...except afew of us witness kids who stood out like a saw thumb....a brother two rows ahead of me had a teacher physically drag him to his feet as he struggled to explain himself...i would sweat like a pig as others pointed and laught and told me off...from then on i would hide in the toilet till i heard the anthem finish then come out.. then theirs birthday holidays, sex education, religious studies which i wanted to do since i would be a star but i was banned by my family.. do you have an embarassing hide like a rat in the toilet moment..

I was embarassed and wanted to disappear EVERY DAY at school. My parents insisted I stay inside the classroom for the Lords Prayer and the anthem. They said it was a witness to all that a young girl was not just going along with the crowd and had some religious convictions. Yeah Right!!!
I wanted to go outside the room and wait it out. I always lived in SMALL towns and was the only JW in the whole school. I stood out like a sore thumb. I really believe it affected my personality and I became very shy and afraid to speak my mind until recently.. I always felt inferiour. The Kids called me Fleabag and would pretend to accidently touch me and then try to tag someone else to get rid of the flea they got from me onto another kid. I was chased constantly, rocks and snowballs were constantly being thrown at me. My parents never interfered and just said it proved I was being a good witness.

I have One Dog
A Yellow Lab named Taz 20 months old He doesn't leave my side unless I go out without him.
He is so protective, he knows I have trouble walking and walks slowly beside me in case I need help. He is so concerned if I even sneeze. Animals are so wonderful

Those were the Days for the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society!!!
Their warnings got many peoples attention and many went into the JW ark. My parents got the truth the year before and my Mom got baptized that year.
My parents were inspired by the words of the FDS and gave up a house and good job in 1958 and went where the need was great, dragging me along (a young child). They gave their all to their belief in the JW religion.
Now my parents are dead and gone and my Mother never left the Ark. Still no New System of things or Armageddon.
I know a lot of people that were best friends with my parents and who helped them into the "truth". Many of them are still alive and they are still as zealous and into it as ever. I don't understand how they can still believe when they have had the time to see how the Watchtower has evolved into nothing but untruths. Creatures of habit I guess??

I moved to a small town in Ontario Canada 3 years ago.
This town has about 7 churches (one of them on my street 4 houses down from me), and a population of less than 1000 people. There is no Kingdom Hall here but there is one about 20 miles south of here. I have had NO JW knocking at my door in all that time. I guess there is NO pioneers that have this territory.

Who else is on the Disabled List?
by hillbilly instill out of action with a double fracture of the leg... both bones right above the ankle.
the incisions are healed up pretty well... see the doc at the end of the month to see how this recovery will progress.. who else is on the sick, injured or crazy list this week?.

Orange FC I knew you had some disabilities but had no idea that you were coping with so many of them. I have no reason to feel sorry for myself when I hear your story.
I am so happy that your new apt is so nice and that you are getting assisted living. It sounds like things are working out for you despite your huge health problems.
