Downloadable leaflet "Highlights From The Finished Mystery"
by cedars ini've just finished my fourth and final "under the microscope" series of articles in which (hopefully) i've debunked many of the arguments often put forward by those claiming that jehovah's witnesses must be god's sole channel of communication with mankind.. this latest article focusses mostly on "the finished mystery" and the many errors contained therein that prove it couldn't possibly have been approved by christ when he was ostenisbly selecting the bible students as his chosen earthly representatives in 1919. i would like to thank and acknowledge alfred as being a huge help in compiling a list of key "highlights" of the book that serve to expose it for what it really is - a total work of fiction and absurdity.. shortly before alfred left this forum, we discussed the possibility of using his list to produce a special leaflet that people could print out themselves and insert in their "revelation climax" books, or "revelation climax" books belonging to family members.
i'm delighted to announce (with my best sunday afternoon convention speaker voice!
) that this leaflet is now ready, and available for download on the links below:.

Hmm ... why didn't you mention that according to the book, Russell's "distressing hemorrhoids" (p. 57) qualified him as a minister?

Out of interest, does the German version claim that Kaiser Wilhelm was driven by "evil spirits"??
Not the way the English book does! The English version reads:
The ex-Czar of Russia was a spiritualist, and maintained mediums for consultation. Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany, for years prior to the great war, followed the guidance of a demon which spoke to him clairaudiently, urging him to his present course.
The German book reads (translated back):
The ex-Czar of Russia was a spiritualist, and maintained mediums for consultation. Kaiser Wilhelm is said to have done that, too.
Buuut .. at Revelation 7:3 the German book is even more clear. English version:
Do not complete the Harvest work too soon, and thus allow the demons to invade the minds of men until the appointed time. (Many writers claim that this has already happened to the ex-Czar of Russia, to Kaiser Wilhelm and to the chief of modern "evangelists.")
German version:
Do not complete the Harvest work too soon, so that the demons are prevented as long as possible from invading the minds of men and stiring them up to acts of violence. (Many writers claim that demons were influencing the ex-Czar of Russia, Kaiser Wilhelm and others.)
Btw:
I had to make the font really small to fit everything in. At least you will have slightly more space to work with
Haha! The German language is complicated. That's why the German WTS publications are printed in smaller font than the English ones. Translating from English to German can easily add 30 % more text.

Damn. The German book doesn't mention alarm clocks for the clergy. And it doesn't call barbed wire a blessing of Christ's Kingdom, as does the English book. (And at least my 1925 edition translated "the worldwide Hebrew domion over the whole world" with "God's Kingdom" - I asked someone who has a printed 1918 edition to look up that passage.)

You're welcome :) .. I just found it during translation. If I find further errors I'll tell you :)
So far I have not found another error, but the "chart following page 64" does not exist in the German book. Looking for another passage.

During Translation I found a small error in the leaflet. It's not a large thing, but it might confirm the typical "apostates are liars" opinion.
Your leaflet says:
According to The Finished Mystery ... Jesus "assumed the office of king" in 1878 (p66).
But this is not true. According to the book, the year 1878 is NOT "the date at which our Lord assumed the office of King", but it is corresponding to this date. The full paragraph says:
So then.— "The Spring of 1878, corresponding to the date at which our Lord assumed the office of King, rode on the ass, cleansed the Temple of its moneychangers, and wept over and gave up to desolation that nominal church or kingdom, marks the date from which the nominal church systems are not the mouth-pieces of God, nor in any degree recognized by Him."— B235.
Of course there may be other passages that claim that Jesus would have become King in 1878, but this paragraph does not.

Watchtower Library Question
by peggaloon ini have never seen a watchtower library cd so this is a very basic question:.
if you get a 2003 watchtower library cd, does it contain all publications from the 1970's or so, up to 2003?.
then if you get the 2004 watchtower library cd, it will contain everything that the prior cd has, plus 1 years extra?.

Yes. AFAIK nothing which has been on older CDs is omitted from the newer ones, except publications that have been revised. So, the old CDs contained the original Revelation book, and the newer CDs have the revised Relevation book. But apart from that:
1993 CD: Watchtowers 1950 - 1993, everything else 1970 - 1993
2011 CD: Watchtowers 1950 - 2011, everything else 1970 - 2011
