Is there an Almighty Dog ?
by Phizzy ini am not dyslexic, though it is in the family, and i am kinda referring to the joke about the agnostic dyslexic wondering if there really is a dog.. my question is sincere though.
there are kind of "top" dogs, some are bigger than others, some are stronger, and yet really they are all dogs, and there is not really an almighty dog, a canine supreme being.. so, there may be other beings in the physical universe, superior or inferior to us, or just differnt, who knows.. but let us assume there is a "spirit world" not part of the physical universe, and it is peopled by "beings".. is it philosophically necessary that there be a supreme being ?.

Less than one third (1/3) of Jehovah's Witnesses will survive Armageddon
by Calebs Airplane inin the early 80's when i was just a teen, i was out in field circus one day when i overheard our cobe (called president at the time?
) telling another elder that, if armageddon were to come tomorrow, less than 1/3 of the congregation would survive.
this was actually in a bakery as we were just finishing up and they didn't even notice me standing in line as they were too busy drooling over the pastries and talking trash about a ministerial servant who decided not to go to field circus that day for whatever reason.

Role Reversal: Placing 1969 Awake with JW's Manning the New Portable Literature Displays
by snapdragon4 inin recent weeks the jw’s here in the uk have been setting up their new portable watchtower literature displays in my local town square on a saturday morning.
as they hadn’t knocked on my door for at least five years, and consequently feeling somewhat neglected, i thought that i would pay them a visit instead.. .
the first thing i needed to do was arrange my literature.

Reminds me of my own experience. Few weeks before I finally left, I talked to an elder who was really a friend of mine, and told him a bit about my thoughts. When I mentioned 1975, he immediately replied: "Have you read something? Something that you should not read?" I then told him: "I don't need apostates to read about 1975. It's on our own Watchtower Library CD!"

Looks like father and son, chip off the old block
Indeed, I noticed the same thing. Maybe they selected him because of that ;)
Still I like this picture more, where I have inserted Karl Ranseier:

Four scriptures you will never heard read in a Kingdom Hall:
I want to add Psalm 78:65:
Then Jehovah began to awake as from sleeping, like a mighty one sobering up from wine.

"Many passersby requested a Bible study."
This is like in the old song 32:
Similar in German, it says about the door-to-door-preaching that "some want to stay like before." So basically, when JWs go witnessing in a village, almost all inhabitants become witnesses, except for "some" who refuse to listen." Of course, it’s not at ev’ry door w e find a hearing ear; At times there is a scolding tongue a nd those who will not hear."

Indeed. A "Kreisrat" is a member of the county council. But of course it must be convinced, though she is convicted also ;)
Tuesday, the Chemnitz district court heard the appeal of a 56-year old woman from Aue. She is a convinced member of Jehovah's Witnesses - and got to know the alledged head of the gang at a meeting of the denomination. Her husband - brother of the former County Councillor - also belonged to the religious association and obvioulsy tried to recruit persons for the network there.
