  Does any version of the CD contain mags and books prior to 1970?

  AFAIK the CD contains the latest version that has been printed. So, when Watchtower volumes were reprinted after years, sometimes their text was modified at that time. And of course they put the latest version on the CD. But there are no changes from the latest printed copies to the CD; e. g. the 5/74 KM praising JWs who sold their houses to "spend the short time remaining before the wicked world’s end" in the ministry is on it.

  In the German version of The Golden Age, there also was an article about the benefits of blood transfusions. Blood transfusions were depicted as a great blessing for mankind.

  i wonder if anyone actually enjoys them.

  i have heard scattered reports about how a few actually enjoyed at least a few of the older songs (back when there were 225 of them).

  but i have heard nothing but reports of the new songs being impossible to properly sing, very poorly written or performed, or downright blasphemous and promoting blatant idolatry.

  As someone noted in the German forum: The Witchtower is "based on God's word" too. So, according to the new Watchtower, it is "from Jehovah."

  Did the WT totally "luck out" with World War I starting in 1914?

  my family is still fixated on the 1914 date, simply because world war i started that year.. i told them i will agree it is a significant year in world history, but that the 1914 date as presented by jw's is based on lies and charlatanry.. i said "i think the wt really lucked out with 1914 with wwi starting that year - it keeps most jw's stuck on that date" .

  the standard answer is "well, that was the year everything went haywire"...... let the circular reasoning continue .

  According to JW doctrine, Jesus was enthroned in OCTOBER 1914, AFTER what he cast out Satan from heaven, AFTER what Satan misled mankind to make war. Unfortunately, World War I already started in JULY 1914.

  Besides, they foretold Armageddon for 1914, not a war. When Armageddon didn't come in 1914, they changed it to "soon after 1914" and "1915".

  I think it was not before 1925 that they "found" that in 1914, 1914 was enthroned in heaven.

  So, yes, they were just lucky. They foretold things for 1874, 1878, 1879, 1881, 1884, 1914 and so on ... in ONE of these years, SOMETHING happened, though something totally different that they had foretold.
