  Reasons for change in meetings and book study

  there were already a few topics and posts about the motifs behind the changes, but i think we can unite them all in just one topic.. for a start i will say thar the letter that is going to be read next weekend, says that gb wants to reduce the burden (quotes acts 15:28), and adds that in many countries the gas (petroleum) is at a very high cost for some families.

  then it makes a suggestion to use the same day for study at home with family.. of course that the text of hebrew 10:25 is not quoted!

  - if we are more close to the end it should be taken the opposite measure!.

  In this case it was a new member with inside info, I would use the wait and see approach. Since others have confirmed his allegations, no need to find out more or push him to reveal more about him/her.

  ...by the flds brouhaha down in texas?

  obviously the doctrine is way different, but there are so many similarities: the haunted look in so many eyes, the oppressively patriarchy, the lack of feeling, the use of fear and separation for control, the whole everyone-else-is-evil mentality.

  i sent off an email to a relative and asked if she heard anything about the big announcement this sunday.

  i told her what i heard about it and here is her response.

  I think the extra night will be turned into an extra night out in the service. Most people are not home during the day, it was hard to get the witnesses out in the evening because of too many meetings. They won't have that excuse now.

  personally I think it's the men who should be locked up in the stadium till they figure this out, not the kids. However, maybe some of the older kids will get to see another side of life and realize theirs was not exactly normal.

  has anyone considered that they may join the bs/theo/svc mtgs so that the congregation can have a congregational service night together and cover more territories now that most people are home (that way we can irritate more of them) and have more opportunities to spread the bad (oops i mean good) news it is certainly a possibility, especailly considering the marked increase in acceptance of obedience to the fds (i.e.

  9 angry men in bethel the gb) it sure makes me wonder.

  i can care less as i am inconsistent in my ministry and don't care if they like it or not.

  i have been researching the wt's position on earthquakes and i am a little confused.

  it appear that the wt is now not saying that earthquakes have become more common since 1914. for example on the wt site it is stated that

  earthquakes.

  Hello America I'm Back!!

  as many of you know i went to south america (ecuador) for my vacation, and to meet some of my wife's family and friends, so i will write a bit about what happend.

  first, this was not a typical relaxing vacation with laying out on the beach and drinking cocktails, our first day we took a 3 hour car ride outside the capitol to a area that we hike to see huge waterfall, along the way we toured some volcanos, now quito, ecuador is in some parts as high up as 9,600 ft high, and in that high elevation, a sea level guy like me had some problems, stomach aches, headaches, body aches, and shortness of breath, but i did fine.

  after a few days of visiting volcanos, and other historical points of interest, my wife's best friend's husband has a cousin who is a captain in the ecuadorian air force, i was told that we were going to visit him because he is stationed in a town at the gateway to the amazon, so we took a nearly 5 hour car ride into the amazon, along the way stopping at some more volcanos, and little shops to buy shrunken heads.
