I've not been to the meetings at all since the last Memorial but before that I'd get a phone call every now and then. I just told the brother that at the time I did'nt feel like there was anything anyone could do for me. But I'd let them know if I changed my mind. Guess it worked because they have'nt called back since.

Have you ever turned down a Shepherding Call?
by dig692 inhello all, i was wondering if any of you have every turned down a shepherding call, and if so, how did you do it?
did you just say "no thanks" or did you give a reason?.
i need some suggestions on how to decline one myself, since running away from them at the hall will only work for so long .

I had a REALLY big first in my life today!!!.....
by oompa inbeen kinda bummed for a few...and a newer nondub friend said i should go to church with him and his wife today...he called me last night about it....so it was not far and i knew nothing about it...but my friend and i are a lot alike....so showed up...it rocked!!
!...everybody had jeans on including the preacher with his shirt untucked...he was lively and funny and real....there were some skits that screamed district convention to me but they were way funnier and better acted....and even though i totally tuned out to most of the sermon part and all the jesus stuff.........the band freakin rocked!...the music was incredible!....just great talent....i told my buddy we should go tell the preacher that not only did he get a newbie in the door...but that it was someone who had never been to church in his entire life!!!.
i went just for social reasons........and there are prob great babe opportunities there....lol.....but it was a good morning and we went to lunch.....it was a great day!!

A question for all ex jws AND JW's here, btw I'm new too

this is very very important, first i"ll address the non/ex jw then i'll address the jw's (jw's scroll down if don't wanna see the first part).
i see so many who have concluded that it was not 'god inspired', a lot of what is being done, and their conscience told them that many things conflicted with jesus teachings and the bible.

Phone Territory!

man, i hated that!
i kept on wishing no one picks up the phone or it's a disconnected phone number or something.

I never could bring myself to do it. It was hard enough going to their homes but to invade their privacy through the phone just seemed to much. Also I never could imagine setting at a booth like at Walmart or the mall. Just to wierd.

Your favorite stuffing/dressing recipe for Turkey
by restrangled inevery year i like to try something a little different, but tend to go back to my favorite...whats yours?.
i use 1/2 pepperidge farm seasoned bread crumbs and 1/2 corn bread and add the following".
2 onions chopped and at least 5 stalks celery chopped sauteed in a cup of butter.

I make my cornbread. Then I add 2 chopped boiled eggs, lots of finely chopped celery and onion that has been sauted in butter. Sage to taste, I like lots, then enough chicken broth to get it really moist. Bake seperate from turkey. I don't like it in the bird either. It is sooo good served with turkey gravy and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoe casserole, green beans, hot rolls, and iced tea. Yummy. For dessert, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and ice cream.
