  since i last thought of the rain though i can smell the dampness in the frosty air and hear the trickling thunder in the darkened distance beyond the naked trees jutting into the cool night veil of darkness as the pulse in my neck quickens and then slows and pushes life through the arteries sleeping beneath the surface of quiet solitude and drifting away into the slumber that awaits the death of awareness.

  Mama will not be transfused

  i've been a long-time reader of this site and have found it everything from informative to entertaining... but i'm now posting because i'm craving the ears (or eyes, i guess) of people who understand.. .

  my mother was just last week diagnosed with an "ovarian type" cancer.

  the oncologist discussed with her how far the cancer has already spread, and said she would operate immediately to remove as much of it as possible, but would not proceed if my mother resisted a transfusion as the risk of blood-loss will be too great.

  Sorry to hear of your situation. Really at this point you should probably just try and be there for your mom and not push the blood issue. That will just put more stress on the both of you and during the final days of this disease , more stress is the last thing either of you need. I wish there was more that I could say to help.

  the governing body constantly tries to impose its will on jehovah's witnesses.

  they really don't want you to do anything but society approved things.

  everything is "bad".. we can see this quite clearly at this point.

  Your worst field service experience.

  my worst field service experience was this.. i didn't have a car at the time and so a pioneer sister was picking me up of service every couple of days.

  she was my partner and i got a door where the woman was clearly not interested.

  as i am stepping away the pioneer sister starts in with all the objection stoppers.

  Let's see,, I had a man tell me he'd shoot me if I ever came back, a 2 year old kid pulled the car out of gear and I was in the back seat and had to guide us into a tree, a woman threatened to hit us with her broom, almost bit by a dog , not to mention how BORED I got.

  I don't know of violence breaking out , but there is one certain ex-elder that better be glad I was'nt like I am now when he was "counseling "your sister a few years ago.

  That sorry ***hole would have a few less teeth!!!!!!

  I told my husband that I'm going to throw away my no blood card

  i discussed my view with him and he understood the point i made but said that until he receives further instruction from the gb he will still refuse a transfusion.

  i asked him if he would deny me a blood transfusion if i needed one and he said, "i don't know.

  i went to lunch with my non-jw aunt and cousin and told them about the conversation.
