The writer of the book review is anonymous, no name listed. Not all the essays on Commentary Press are written by Ray so the author may very well be someone else.
Do you feel the material is lacking and does not do what it claims to do?

the following i wrote to a friend this morning and doctored slightly for this forum.
can any of you relate to this kind of mystical experience and if you would be kind enough, would you mind me quoting any experiences listed to my friend?
please be aware that the letter uses language to detach me away from the watchtower (thus church, instead of congregation etc).

Quite a few exJWs have experienced things similar to what you described. Some feel it's God's spirit others are not sure what to think but they know for sure something was happening outside of the realm of the five senses. I know of a few exJWs who have met at different places and at different times without ever communicating with each other. Not kidding, they know where the other will be and when.

you know, today is different, i have some good memories from years ago, cake after bookstudys, kiddie parties, intermissions, mcdonalds for break at field service.
happy elders who would tease me as a little girl and carry me from door to door.

I really enjoyed working at the assemblies, KH building etc.
I enjoyed visiting the Farm and Brooklyn Bethel.
I also loved the friends.
I also liked having trust in the GB, that was the biggest positive for me in the Org. and of course the biggest fall. When the trust died everything else did also.

My mother used to tell us not to send flowers at her funeral but instead spend time with her while she's alive because the flowers won't mean a thing to her when she's dead. It's the same with these, "We miss you" things, nice token but it means nothing to those of us who were allowed to suffer all alone without a call or a visit from those who claimed to be our friends.

The title of this thread is, "One Devastating Bible Passage", it isn't devastating in my opinion, so I gave my opinion on it. What is the problem with that? I don't understand your angry tone.

Yes, I can. It smells like when someone doesn't like to be disagreed with and like a little kid in a school yard fight calls names and puts up his little fists to start a fight over nothing.
Also your last paragraph proves nothing, you are misappling the whole thing simply to prove your point. I don't know all the fancy terms for it but I believe you would call someone out on that if they tried to use such silly logic. The man did a good thing, he killed no one, he expelled a demon by Jesus' name. In the Bible this is attributed to God's spirit, therefore of course then, he was not working against Jesus but for him.

there have been a couple of posts recently about the 144,000. since the wt theory is bogus, i ask the forum, "who are the 144,000"?
i know the traditional view of some religions is that they are 144,000 literal jews who will convert near the gt to witness to the jewish population.
not sure that makes a whole lot of sense to me.
On this Jehovah's Witnesses are closer to the truth. Mainstream Christians believe they are going to heaven yet Jesus indicated just the opposite, a small flock, a narrow road etc. The Bible Students have this one right also.
In my opinion, "heaven" for most Christians and non-Christians will be the earth. Not a bad place if I say so myself.

e-watchman has finally gone public with letter writing to the governing body and posting a new message on his site that shows he wants the gb to say they are sorry and clean up their act.

e-Watchman is gathering his own following of JWs who now think he is the anointed one who gives them spiritual guidance and some even think that when they are on that site they can feel God's spirit. Sad to see how they so quickly leave one lie only to accept another.
e-Watchman claimed to send out a whole bunch of letters on the U.N. problem to almost every KH in the U.S. but my brother and my brother-in-law who are both POs in the New York City area never received any letters and neither have other friends in various congregations across the country. I'm not too confident about his latest mailing, did it really go out?

The sister you've been dating knew full well that JWs are told not to marry outsiders and she must have known how her parents felt about it. It's not you who needs to decide what to do but rather she does. She's the one who knowingly got involved in a situation that, unless she leaves the Witnesses, could lead to nothing but hurt or conversion for you.
