  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  i don't know if this has been posted .

  the president from trinidad & tobago attends the memorial.... the president of the nation (george maxwell richards) attends the memorial at a local kingdom hall in trinidad & tobago .

  everyone is wondering well, who invited him & how?.

  I have seen this before. Last year I was sent this same email with the same exact pictures and story that are going around this year. Did he go 2 years in a row and wear the same suit? Kind doubt it!!! Hopefully the pics and stories change next year.

  The reason for the change, my opinion.

  i think the decision was made because elders were starting to really feel the pinch and maybe many were considering giving their resignation due to the heavy workload involved.

  with the new arrangement, not only do they have one less meeting to get ready for a week but also less preparation for the remaining ones.

  i don't think the org can afford to lose too many elders.

  Whatever happened to all those comments in the past that the book study is a smaller group and we will and it prepares us for when we probably have to meet in smaller groups once the Great Tribulation breaks out. We I guess we can scrap that idea!!!!!!!!

  i'm a baptized member considered ''inactive.

  '' i don't hand in ''service reports'',attend maybe 3 meetings a month,ain't signed up for the ministry school and will never attend any convention or the ''book study.

  I was raised in the truth, pioneered went to the big house in brooklyn made it to elder and eventualy P.O. I did all that cause it was expected of me. Got tired of all the politics among the elders,,tired of C.O's on power trips giving thier own opinions as if they had revelations from heaven. Tired of people only being friends if you were spiritual enough for them i.e. pioneers and wannabe circuit overseers. Can't get past some of the decisions made by the big house regarding elder appts and that they are appointed by holy spirit and how the C.O's used to say before we recommended someone that its easy to get someone appointed but real hard to get them removed. Well it shouldn't be if it's all done by holy spirit!!! So i turned in my badge even though the body and C.O. convneced me not to telling me that I will regret it if I do. Well guess what...I dont regret it. So now I;m just kind of chillin reading at the CBS and WT on Sunday but they don't use me to pray at the Hall only at the bookstudy. Funny how can I qualify to pray at the CBS and not the hall. I gues I am a good example at the CBS and a bad example at the hall. Anyway I dont have to worry about calling those shots anymore. I am happy and just sticking around cause of the family.

  Now that I think of it, we have the C.O. in a few weeks. Should I take some time off from work and "support the arrangements" or should I save my vacation days and take the kids to Disney??? What should I do???? I'm so confused!!!!

  yesterday we all met as a congreation for service at the hall.

  remeber how the km had that article about starting on time and not talking afterwards but getting right to the territory?

  What kills me is that we went out yesterday and did not talk to anyone. Well maybe one person. But we have to get out there right away (no talking after the prayer) according to the KM because as you know people are just waiting for us to come and knock on thier door. Yeah Right!!!

  My first post. Yesterday we all met as a congreation for service at the hall. Remeber how the KM had that article about starting on time and not talking afterwards but getting right to the territory? Well this is what happened. We meet at 10 am as a congrow the last saturday of each month. We arrived about 3 mintues after 10 am ,right behind the P.O. When we walk in the door everyone was talking and mingling and there were 2 elder (one of them gave that part in the service meeting) who were waiting for the P.O. to take out the group. This always happened to me when I was P.O. I would arrive a few minutres late and no one would take the group out. They all waited for me to do it. THAT USED TO TICK ME OFF. Well while everyone was talking I knew that I would seen that holier that thou pioneer couple sitting in the front row like good little school kids right at 10 am and yep...there they were...right in the front row while everyone is still wating the the group to start. It's like they were saying....We are better than you because we follow the instructions. Then after the prayer and arrangements gues what. everyone one left right away for the territory just like the KM said to do.....NOT!!!!!!!!. They were all having to much fun just chillin and talking until the husband of the holier than thou pioneer couple goes and shuts all the lights out and starts yelling "lets go lets go" just like a goat herder. TICKED ME OFF!!!!! So there you have it, another example of how well that stuff in the KM works.
