  My jw brother wants to be my facebook friend lol

  ok so im starting to think that maybe, just maybe facebook and i arent meant to be friends.

  since ive joined i keep having old jw friends finding me on there.

  which is fine because i just deny their friendship, we weren't that good friends anyway.. anywho i just logged on to find that my brother has now sent me a friend request.

  Bad idea! I don't allow any jw's on my facebook. It could lead to problems especially sibblings on your friends list. Of course it depends on what kind of

  stuff you put up. But again you could block them from seeing your friends.

  does anyone remember the ban on life cereal, because it was supposed to contain blood?

  i've ben disfellowshipped for more than 20 years, so it's been quite a while since i heard this.

  did anyone hear this?

  I know a cong. that 1/2 the women were on antidepressants and the other 1/2 have fibromilaga. It's like catching the flu ! Its very SAD.

  oops, well i had intended to post a message along with this new topic and my fingers were faster than my brain (need more coffee .

  well, i suppose it's like preaching to the converted; me obtaining this book, but i guess it's one of those things i just needed to do to finalize everything.. i know there are countless topics on ray franz' book.

  but to finally pick it up, i feel like: 'i can hardly wait to read it'.. before, i more or less figured: 'i am out of the wtbts, so why bother?'.

  the elder giving the public talk a couple of weeks ago told the congregation that there are more and more.

  movies and tv programs, like charmed, or books and movies like harry potter that must be avoided at all costs.

  because they are a direct link to demonism and spiritism.

  Can anyone tell me WHY I was not allowed to watch "The Flying Nun"? I understand "Dark Shadows", "Bewitched", "I Dream of Jeanie/Genie?", but "The Flying Nun"???!

  Probably because it would be like letting the catholic church into your living room on a weekly basis. And it may incite kids to want to become a nun.

  she told him "tomorrow morning, i expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in six seconds!

  my wife burst into the computer room and found me {gasp} talking with apostates on this site!

  now she doesn't go witnessing anymore and only very rarely goes to a meeting...but talking to apostates is not on!

  i quickly closed down but had to log-off later so she doesn't find out that iam "witness 007.

  I just don't understand people who continue to go to the meetings when they hate it and live double lives.

  My understanding is that this site use to be more pro-jw but now is has made a 180 towards apostate, perhaps it has just become clear to many now how duped they've been

  over the years. This site has no doubt helped many to see this. Also many have family ties as they have mentioned, and that's what keeps them going. Its hard to just close

  the door on immediate family, you really have to be ready to deal with the consequences this is an extremely big step.
