I already said I came on too strong. That doesn't make me a troll. I said I don't understand the hate for this religion. That doesn't make me a troll. I'm an active witness. That doesn't make me a troll. I said I didn't hold everyone on this board or everyone who posted on those threads in the same light. Again, that doesn't make me a troll.
I posted what I was feeling, I posted from emotion. If you don't see things the same as me, fine. What good would it do for me to bring in other people's post here from either thread. I can say that after having reread the story of the wife abuser, there was only one post that set me off so I take back what I said about that thread. I'll see if I can take out my comment there, if not, I'll apologize.
I still say that there seems to be a lot of hate towards this religion, and yeah, I don't get it.

Avishai, I know I am in the minority here since I am still active. I haven't had the experience you and others have with Jehovah's Witnesses. The fact I am here means something or should because what I am doing is a serious no no. Maybe as I read more I'll understand this. But I hope what I learn doesn't change who I am and how I feel about this.

If they are all anointed and spirit-appointed, why is a 2/3 majority all that is required for them to make/change policies?
Can't Jehovah's active force, the same energy used in the creation of the universe, move the hearts and minds of these men to the point that all their conclusions/opinions/decisions about matters affecting God's people are unanimous within the body?

The flip flops you talk about are interesting. I haven't heard of those two and you mentioned there were many others. I'll search here, but if you have a quick link or something I'd appreciate it. I believe they are inspired. I believe they tell us they are. I admit I don't understand how they are being directed. I trust that Jehovah will make his will known through them. It's up to me to be patient and wait.
But if what you say is true, and they have gone back and forth on certain issues, especially the organ transplant issue you mentioned, then this kind of freaks me out. I'll keep looking here and so I don't hijack this thread, if you have a link can you send it to my inbox?

I know I came across strong on this. I am not including all of the posters here on this board nor all of the posters on those threads. Is there really so much hate for this religion? I can't get my mind around that.

Thanks avishai. I'm really sorry for what happened to your brother and I hope he is getting the help he needs to heal. I know what black humor is. I guess what's bothering me about this is the callousness of it all simply because there was some connection to Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't know these people mentioned in the news. I didn't love them. I'm not trying to create false drama.
Beksbks, not arguing here, but I'm nearly 19, not 16. I'm not saying I know everything about how the world works.
I honestly don't understand the attitude that was displayed there.

I am new here and I have been reading a lot of stuff on this board. My parent's are both JWs, I am still active and still believe I have the truth. I consider myself a moral person. I feel empathy when someone is truly hurting. I cry for the tragedies that happen in this world. I honestly want to help unbelievers find the truth of the bible that will help them withstand the trials of this system, give them something to look forward to.
I know I'm young and this is probably not going to be received well but I can't keep this inside. There are a lot of you here who are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses. For whatever reason you left. That's your decision. To those who made fun of these tragedies on the 2 threads, when you left, did you turn off your hearts as well?
I was disgusted to see that in two different threads both dealing with a human tragedy many many people making fun of first, a dead person who was found behind a JW Assembly Hall and second, a woman who was beaten, terrorized and held at knife point by her psycho JW husband while their young daughter watched it all.
What happened to you? What makes it ok for a person to devalue the life of another human being simply because the words Jehovah's Witness is mentioned? Has your hate for this religion turned you into cold hearted monsters?
What if it was your relative that was found dead behind the Assembly Hall as one poster joked it was? What if it was your sister or your mother that was being aggressively abused and threatened with death? Would it still be funny?
I came here to learn about the things I'm not being told about the WTB&TS but I gotta tell you, I'm a little sick to my stomach. If this is what I'll turn into if I leave the truth, I'd rather stay in.
