52Guys!! Guys!!! Two Jehovah's Witnesses were just at my door!!
by ziddina inand of course, i had some fun with them... an older, brunette woman who obviously dyes her hair and could stand to lose a bit of weight, and a slim blonde teenage girl - probably around 15 - 17.... i started out by asking them if they knew how old the bible was.... .
(and unfortunately, i think i demonstrated that i wouldn't make a very good "undercover" bible study prospect... .
but they didn't even know how old - young - the bible was!!.

When and how did the GB start cracking down on the dubs social life?
by highdose ini can remember when i was first assimilated, the jw's did alot together, they went to the park together, they had picnics, days out together.. .
somehow by the 90's this had stopped.
did i miss somthing?

Gillingham, Kent this weekend for local Dubs, Tee Hee.
Yup, fry or freeze is right, no in-between ! We used to go to Plymouth, and make a week of it, stayed in B&B near a Pub with other drinkin' buddies from my Congo. so slept most of the D.C away, if it was not too hot/cold !
Last one I went to was actually Gillingham 2006, don't remember the D.C content, funny, all that build up and fuss about going, and I can't remember a thing that was said there, or any other D.C come to that, what a friggin waste of time and effort they are !
Weather was mild and fine for once then in 2006, but, all in the past, thank goodness !

Hi Highdose !
We used to have HUGE congo. parties ,barbecues attended by half the circuit !! , outings, we hired a coach ! etc. etc.
Our Congo. was known far and wide as sociable, (you probably came along on some of the jamborees ?)
We had a warm family atmosphere, more often than not only getting closer to people because of this social aspect.
This did tail off with all the "large gatherings" counsel, and as the congo. got larger,170 plus pubs. before it split, it got a bit less "warm".
Within the F.S group it still continued, till they did away with that.
The W.T is all about control, they want even local Elders to regulate Witness lives as much as possible, they seem to hate any element of fun in JW life. Any kind of Networking is condemned it seems.

Adhering strictly to what the Bible actually says, and not adding at all, in other words careful and accurate exegesis, no eisegesis, would destroy all WT/JW unique doctrine.
In other words "What does the Bible really Teach" would contain only things that are really there, thus emptying most of that pernicious book's content.

Great News !!! Congrats !!
We have two sons, we get great joy from both, and we often talk of the things they did as kids, they were so entertaining !
We are in the U.K and son No.2 is on walkabout in Oz at the moment, so its just texts and e-mails, son No.1 came to dinner last night and told us that, at last, he has a steady girlfriend, 'bout time, he is 33 !
Let us know more as the bump gets bigger !
