I think that probably most of the Apologist posters on here were suffering from an over-load of Cognitive Dissonsnce, and wade in on here to try to make themselves feel better, to re-affirm their faith.
I don't believe an honest hearted JW could read and research on here without getting their eyes opened.
Therefore this site, and to a degree other similar sites, are the biggest "demon" the WT has to battle.
They cannot have members finding out the Truth.

I love it when they join in on here, it shows up their religion for what it is. We haven't had a quality JW Apologist on here for ages, just the loonie ones, ho hum, maybe someday soon some poor benighted believer will stick their head over the parapet, but I think they prefer their comfort zones on the self-congratulatory sites that many Dubs inhabit.
Have you read the sick-making stuff on some of them ? "Isn't Jah great " "Oh gee yes, Agape".

i spent sometime with a fellow ex jw yesterday.
we had grown up in the same congregation and left within a few years ago.
she referred to it as "the truth.
That is the main expression that they use that really jars with me, occasionally my wife has used it over the last few years, fobbing off my protestations with :
"Well, you know what I mean".
In the end I said either refer to it as "The Deception" or as The Dubs or something, I pleaded with her never to call it "The Truth" again.
She hasn't, which is good, as sometimes a smack in the mouth offends.
i think we are to a degree but i think its on a different level to the americans.
the impression i get (from watching us tv and news) is that the majority of americans come across as being proud to be american and quite a possitive nation.
whereas us brits will display pride as a nation when we have to.
I don't think there really is a "british" nation. A lady told me the other day "I would die for my contry !" , she came from Northern Ireland, and that place is what she meant by her "country".
We are still tribal, the "United Kingdom" is a fiction, and one that is crumbling as greater independance is sought by its various parts.
I am English, not proud of that, it is an accident of birth, the English,along with the rest of the "British" have alot to be ashamed of in the past, and some of that past is quite recent !
Yes, we also have things to be proud of, as have most nations, but there is not sufficient evidence to justify any feeling of superiority over other peoples.
I think an impartial look at America, or indeed any nation, will come to the same conclusion, things to celebrate, but lessons to be learned.
dad was a great man, great, despite the religion.
he was powerful, tall and intelligent, yet humble and kind.
he was an introvert, and a circuit overseer.
I feel for you my friend, it is something we humans have not really got a handle on, losing our loved ones in death. I shall be thinking of you in the coming days, and sending good vibes for Thursday.

when my wife finally gets baptised will she have to sign the power of attorney over to the jws automatically or this a voluntary thing?
i am concerned being a none bleiever that she will undermine my authority on this issue.
I signed a Blood Card many years ago, it crumpled to nothing and I never replaced it, I never signed a Power of Attorney type form as produced by the WT, neither did my wife, for the last years of our membership we did not sign or carry a "Blood Card".
All of this was more to do with laziness than belief, but the point is, nobody checked up on us, so why is your wife going to sign ? really ?
Fear of losing her eternal life ? Get her to read JW Facts article on the Blood Doctrine, that should do the trick, and this is a life or death issue, don't take any
"I will not read apostate literature" rubbish, tell her it is her, and your kids life and health that are at stake, and she is resposible to consider all the evidence.

For that reason it has always rankled when apologists have said "They (the GB) are also Captives of a Concept", or " victims of victims " or somesuch, they bloody well know it is all a scam !
