They could get some "Noo Lite" all of a sudden that Rev.11v18 applies in a symbolic way as the "earth "does in the rest of Rev.and then they will be free to continue to pollute the earth with their tracts and mags.etc. dangerous though,they may then have to say that the figure of 144,000 is also symbolic, ouch.

imagine if we could organize an international protest within kingdom halls, similar to the money campaign at last times memorial...perhaps something similar, we should have something ready for next year...
All who can, go along to the memorial and partake of the emblems,it would be nice if the figure went up worldwide to at least 145,000.
plus it would be funny when they ran out of that special inedible bread and cheap wine!!!

Jim Fleming is very short ,especially on humour, I once said to him "I see you Jimee,but only just" and I got a lecture from him about mocking afflictions etc,and later got a mouthfull from respectfull wifey for saying it,worth it though.

so last night, our cong asked us to pass a resolution.. what i noticed was, the elder reads the resoltion and then asks for everyone in favor, while he is looking down.. all of the dubs just raise their hands, and before even looking up, th elder says, ok, we'll approve this and send it off.. what a joke !!
why even bother.
just make the rules and tell them people, don't give them the illusion that they have a say in the matter.
I often wonder if this is legal,don't they have to ask if any are against ,because some abstain,but how can they claim they have a majority in favour,and what about absentees?

although i'm pretty much an atheist, i still like reading the bible.
it's an amazing literary masterwork to say the least.. my question is, after discovering that the new world translation of the wts was poorly translated and altered in ways designed to support their various peculiar doctrines (see john 1:1, etc.
), what bible translation are you all the most fond of?.
I like to use the Contemporary English Version ,published here in the U.K by Harper Collins ISBN 0 00 2201976. It is very readable and not too distorted by the translators theology,but I think we have to recognise that every translation has its faults and errors.The King James of course is great in a quaint sort of way,but was produced to support the "divine right "of Kings and is very poor in the light of modern scholership and the more honest approach of most modern translators. I think the advice to use E-Sword is excellent if you wish to get an appreciation of the original writers thoughts.

reading another thread about how the organization is not particularly successful in its effort to preach the gospel and news of kingdom, especially in developing and politically/culturally isolated nations and regions, it ocurred to me that the winessess are essentially using methods which are far outdated and very ineffective or non-productive.. so i was wondering if they could help further their own cause by going "high tech.".
i wonder: how much does a satellite cost?
is the cost laughably prohibitive for them?
They will probably launch lots of satellites as "Signs in the sun,moon and stars"
The only way their predictions ever come true is if they engineer it !!!

....it's just a columnist...but...can it lead to anything?!
I found and read the online article,not sure if it actually appeared in The Times, or just on line, I agree with a lot of it,and it could be the start of a more reasoned approach to religious bigots,why should we pussy-foot around any religion? I doubt, even if this did gain momentum ,that it fulfills anything biblical,but I could be wrong, I mean even the FDS have been wrong once or twice havn't they?

but i can't find a link to a good concise list of all the flip-flops on the 1914 generation.
i wouldn't trouble you but my still-in wife,who never was a studier, has asked me for an easy to read list of changes,what they were, with refs.to articles.she will not read any comment.i'll have to slip that in verbally,but a list would be such a help,especially if it shows for sure a return to a previous beleif on this.. many tanks.

major changes in meetings, the weird drama this year, and just people reading on the internet, are causing a lot to leave the organization, or just fade.
is it possible that, just like a house of cards, the whole thing will fall apart soon?
i mean, this may be wishful thinking, but is it possible that people will start to dissassociate themselves in bigger numbers, then groups and families will do so, then bigger and bigger groups of friends will do it, and then people who hear about this will check on the internet and then do the same thing, then congregations have to be dissolved and merged, then the talks start getting meaner, and that makes even more people quit, then thousands start to leave.. possible?.
I bet if there is a major exodus "Noo Lite" on Jesus words about the "love of the greater number cooling off" will appear to keep the remainder ensnared?
