I totally cross Xbox 360 off my want list.

my cousin has one and loves it.

though i don't see why he has had in the shop more than he has played it.

it sent it in threee time for one issue.

Warning MS just changed the RRoD with the last firmware update to two reds two greens and will not honor the RRoD warranty if you get the new RRoD. Some tech guys noticed the change recently. The old RRoD still happens but it is for only one problem not a general failure any more.

There have always been multiple light patterns. They are codes that tell the techs what the error is. Mine had the three red rings since the last firmware update. As for your cousin's anecdote about multiple failures, it seems he has had some unusual bad luck. I game with about nine different Xbox 360 owners. Between us, three have had the RRoD, which is directly in keeping with MS' numbers. Of those, all were prior to the new 65nm chips and new heatsinks. Of the three of us that had failures, none have had any issues with our replacements. Of my friends that have the new 65nm chips, not one has failed.

many times i read the life stories of former jws.

some of these jws are or have been married.

sometimes their spouses share their doubt about the religion and at times they leave the "truth" together or months or years apart.

I understand completely. I spend a great deal of time alone since I lost my wife to the cult. Sometimes it's actually quite nice, but other times it can be very depressing. Try and find some new interests, you can change your situation. Personally, when I get down, I like to exercise the freedom I didn't have as a JW. Usually that takes the form of watching a movie that would have been unacceptable to them. One of my favorites is "Lucky Number Slevin." It's packed full of gratuitous sex and violence. I find that very cathardic.

The newer ones don't have anywhere near the failure rate, however, they do still fail. Mine has red ringed once. No big deal, though, They send you a box, postage paid, you mail it off and they send you a repaired one. Mine was a year old before it red ringed. I sent it off on a Monday and I got it back that Friday.

I have both a 360 and a PS3. The PS3 is a much better piece of hardware, it is whisper quiet and built like a nice piece of high end home theater equipment. That being said, the only thing I use it for is watching Blu-Ray movies.

The best game, as far as fun and playability on either console, is Halo 3. There is nothing like the experience of Halo 3 multiplayer with your friends. I just picked up GTA IV on the 360 (I would've gotten it on PS3 but all my friends have 360s and to me gaming is very much a social activity). It's fun, but I can tell you that in a month or two I will put it away and go back to playing Halo 3 virtually every day. Halo 3 alone is worth buying a 360 and putting up with the occasional (as in once every three years or so, now that they've somewhat fixed the problem) trip to the shop.

i have noticed alot of debate in posts lately between an atheist argument and a christian one.

it seems to me that the atheist is asked to disprove god's existence.

some times these debates have started to get personal with one side attacking the other with insults and i do not want to start another argument like these.. but i dont get it?

Once again Burn, your knee is jerking a little too quickly. I left Hitler out of my original list because I don't believe he was motivated by religion. My remark about Hitler was in response to realone implying he was an atheist:

um did you forget about Hitler? all that were killed here out number what you speak of

I was merely pointing out that Hitler was not an atheist. Nothing more.

Religious belief is not synonymous with good behavior, but neither is the absence of belief. Granted the history of religious people is a history fraught with failures but you can write the history of anything as a story of injustice. First you decide what you hate, and then you gather evidence for its hatefulness. Since metaphorically speaking man is a fallen creature there is always much nastiness to be found.

I actually agree with your point, but I wasn't arguing that religion must equal evil behavior, or that atheism equals the absence of such. The point I was responding to was:

My point was actually virtually the same as yours. Believers have not created a world without anarchy, quite the contrary. Unlike the Hitler arguement, all the examples I gave were evils perpetrated by believers because of their beliefs. I believe Nobel Prize winner Steven Weinberg made too broad a statement when he said: "Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." However, there is certainly a lot of truth in that statement. Personally I believe the world would be much less anarchic if everyone on earth replaced their religion with rational thinking.

I realize I've already responded to this, but I don't think my previous response was adequate. This is literally one of the stupidest remarks I've ever read. Was it atheists that flew airplanes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon? Was it atheists that released poison gas in the Tokyo subways? Was it atheists that burned witches in Salem? Was it atheists that justified slavery with the Holy Scriptures? Was it atheists that slaughtered tens of thousands in the Crusades? Is it atheists that practice female circumcision? Honor killings of girls because they have been raped? Spread Aids by denying condoms to the third world?

Are you talking about Madeline Murray O haire? She ws murdered for a large amount of gold coins that she had. It had nothing to do with ideology, but for some reason believers like to think it was because she was a prominent atheist.

Humans have a lousy track record, regardless of persuasion, and atheist public policy is also stained.

Stalin was a maniac that happened to be an atheist. If you think that atheists are more likely than believers to commit heinous acts, than there should be a huge percentage of members of the National Academy of Sciences that are rapists and muderers, since 93% of them don't believe in a personal god. Do you suppose the vast majority of the prison population are atheists or believers?
