OK, sorry about the knee jerk reaction. That does sound like fun, & just the type of thing they've been missing being raised dubs. I hope your kids have fun this summer, and again, congrats!

Congratulations on your fade yknot! I have to say, why not (excuse the pun) let your kids just have a break and give their brains a breather, rather than jump straigh into a new indoctrination. I mean think about it; "Remember that entire worldview that we taught you was absolutely correct? Well, now it's not. This is what we believe is absolutely correct now." That's got to do some psychological damage. Why don't you just let them enjoy the summer and be kids? Bible camp will be there next year.

The God You Love - B*llsh*t
by Black Man inthese 3 bright stars are called today what they were called in ancient times: the three kings.the three kings and the brightest star, sirius, all point to the place of the sunrise on december 25th.
this is also called the "great year," and ancient societies were very aware of this.
the reality is that the golden bull is taurus the bull, and moses represents the new age of aries the ram.

Yes, and here's the link. http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/transcript.htm Those footnotes are linked as well. It's verbatim. Copy and paste any sentence into Google and you will come up with this.

This is a transcript from the movie "Zeitgeist". That movie is a cleverly edited conspiracy laden propagandistic piece of black helicopter paranoid delusion dressed up as an expose that makes "Loose Change" look scholarly. While some of the points they make about the common roots of many dying and rising savior god religions are true, a lot is grossly exaggerated. I believe the roots of modern religion are fascinating to explore, but you'd be better off picking up anything by a genuine biblical critic than waste time and brain cells on these idiots.

Just one shred of evidence?
by nvrgnbk inis there just one shred of evidence that proves beyond any doubt that there is a being that is responsible for the existence of the universe and that it continues to have some effect on its inhabitants?
thanks for the inspiration, honesty.

I am humbled by my ignorance.
I believe I will be rewarded for being peaceful.
I do not deny ethical medical care to anyone.
My own moral code, if applied, prevents the spread of AIDS and other STDs.
I am in the process of reaching my personal full potential in life.
Your quarrel is not with me.

I agree. Belief in god is not in itself a universally negative force. But it is a negative force on many, many, many people throughout the world.

Why does "whether God exists or not" bother you so much?
The question bothers me because religion is one of the most destructive, devisive, and harmful forces in the world today. It makes people proud of their ignorance, teaches that followers will be rewarded for violence and murder against others, causes parents to deny children medical care, spreads AIDS and other STDs in the worlds poorest nations, and keeps tens of millions if not billions of humans from reaching their full potential. Considering all this, doesn't this question deserve at least a little discussion?

You wouldn't accept evidence even if it walked up to you and slapped you in the face.
Is that directed at me? If so, what makes you say that? I spent years of my life trying my hardest to believe in God, wanting desperately to believe, and being filled with despair at not finding any evidence. Not believing has cost me dearly in family relationships, including my wife of ten years. I'm sure their are believers that would love to imagine that atheists like me simply don't want to believe or have not looked at the evidence. That someone could scrutinize the bible and the physical evidence thoroughly and come out declaring that they have found not even "one shred of evidence", despite wanting to, must make believers uncomfortable, but that is what happened. And I am far from alone in this.

There is an old saying: "To those who believe no proof is necessary. To those who do not believe no proof will suffice."
Yeah, that's one of my favorite rationalizations for believing whatever the hell you want without evidence. It sounds good, but really only the first half is true in the general sense. Most of us that try to think rationally have a specific threshold of evidence in order to believe anything. If that threshold were met, we would believe. (note: I've been trying to type this for ten minutes but I can't help but keep scrolling back up to look at Scarlett.)
