Questions for Leolaia (possibly the board's brainiest poster :)
by JimmyPage inleo, do you have reference books about the bible stored on your computer?
you seem to have a lot of info at your disposal that you can pull up quickly.
what is your motive for learning so much about the bible?

Watchtower & Awake subscriptions?
by Think About It inseems like i read here that wt & a subscriptions were done away with.
is that correct, and if so when and why?
i can only imagine it would be a cost savings reason.

Remember how they used to come in brown wrappers? Looking back knowing what I know now I have to wonder if the mailman thought it was porn.

Michael Jackson article in Vanity Fair
by mutinyinheaven inthis month they did an article on the making of thriller and included the whacked family dynamic and jw beliefs, where the elders were about the df him for promoting "demonology".. unfortunately, they didn't describe what would really happen to him if he was dfed.. then i realized, his family was so greedy that they would use the b---s---, 'we're in business together', clause from the wtbts.. what was excellent about the article is it showed how naive jackson was to sexuality and asking the questions of a 12 year old when he was an adult.. ---similar to my novel, where when i was in edit mode i received feedback that, a 16 year old wouldn't say that, and i had to let them know that in the jw world, sex was for married people and there was one photo of a woman in her nighty serving her husband's needs, now don't masturbate or you're commiting adultery in your hearts.---.
and since i'm recently single again, it's truely a mindf--- as i try to catch up with civilization.
many friends are helping me navigate these waters of fun, frustration, excitement and not feeling guilty.. check out the jackson article, read b/t the lines like only ex-jws can.

My apologies, slimboy. I think you are missing something, I certainly wasn't intending to be rude.

Titus probably doesn't remember as he was very tired and sometimes nodded off. He had spent many hours preparing a public talk, which, in my opinion, was also hella good.

has anyone looked into Buddhism?
by poor places ini've started reading a book called the modern buddhist's bible and i'm liking a lot of things about the religion so far.
of course i don't know much yet, but there seem to be some very good points to buddhism.
one thing i love is the emphasis on "killing" the ego (or whatever you might want to call what buddhists try to do with their egos!).

I'm satisfied with the simplicity of the Tao Te Ching and the gospels of Christ at this point.
If you'd like to read the Tao online for free, there are websites:

What made Jesus' followers believe that Jesus rose from the dead?
by John Kesler inwhat made some of jesus' followers believe that jesus rose from the dead?
my best guess--and as e.p.
sanders says, we really don't know--is that jesus' followers--distraught, sad, and disillusioned--had visions in what we now call altered states of consciousness, a condition that can be induced by fasting, sleep deprivation, and fatigue.

What Made Jesus' followers believe that Jesus rose from the dead?
The Magician's Code prevents him from answering this question.
