  i find the topic of the 1975 end of the world scenario facinating, especially since i never lived through it.

  do you old schoolers ever feel concerned that people will one day forget about what really went down?

  with whitewashed tripe like the 'proclaimers' book informing dubs that it was just the false expectations of over enthusiastic apostates, are you at all concerned that the legacy of bullshit that is 1975 will be a forgotten moment in history blamed on you instead where the blame really belongs?

  heres the situation.... met a girl i am tottally infatuated with.

  i could just hang out with her and not have sex but she has not been in a relationship in a year and shes pretty horny.

  im a normal dude so i dont want to refuse her.. i cant decide if im rationalizing my feelings.

  All I know is that I was once as indoctrinated as you. Eventually I got over it, but if I could go back in time I would tell my younger self not to pass up any opportunities. Just be safe about it.

  One of my heroes: Farrell Till

  i share with you one of my intellectual heroes: farrell till.. till was a minister whose efforts to understand what he believed led him to discover everything wasn't the way it had been represented to him in seminary.

  he was a missionary and preacher for many years before he decided he could not put his life behind distortions.. he turned to disseminating what he had discovered about the misrepresentations in christianity.. he is a an earlier version of randy at freeminds!.

  JB: For photos I just right click on the photo, hit "copy", and then when I want to post it I right click again and hit "paste". Unless it's a personal photo for which I may have to use flickr.

  no more lurking...hello eveyone

  about a year ago i went through a mild meltdown.

  it hit me fast i had panic attacks and became angry with all the control in my life.

  (being a jw) i had just found out i was being screwed on a real estate development project by another self righteous jw i have known for a long time but this was a big loss (about 4 months pay plus expenses).

  i wanted to make a few comments to those of you that have recently begun to question or have already left the wt and made their way onto this site.

  this site is a great resource to learn how others are coping with leaving the organization and moving on into a fulfilling life.. i wanted to write this post because i think reading something like this would've been helpful to me to understand where a lot of people that comment on this site are coming from.

  you are going to hear from a wide range of people that have moved on to a diverse range of beliefs.
