New member checking in
by Old Major inbeen reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.
i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.
i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.

I can specifically remember an elder telling me that the meetings are not a social club. Brother Ass-hat was his name, I believe! -

my 2cents on the reason for keeping tabs on inactive
by poopie ini think there is.
2 schools of thoght on the reasons why they want records on inactive school 1.round this loose ends up we have to many fadeing and getting amnesty we want to keep tabs on them because they have influence on those still active so tighten up no loopholes make them pay for leaving the organization, school2.these are sincerely.
intrested in helping those who hate our guts because we treated them in an unloveing way or they feel your just are a little stupid and let the loveing shepards help you so it is intresting i also think the circuit ovetseers and yes men have hoodwinked the gb into thinking everthing is just dandy in spirtual paradise these reasons why some ate inactive will be eye opening to some of the gb and hopefully they will see people as fellow humans and not stupid little chilldren that need a human master.

Right now many inactive ones keep a low profile because they want to keep a good relationship with their JW family members.
If WT starts treating inactive ones like DF'd ones, it will create a lot more anti-WT activists.
And the more activists, the greater the chance that more JWs will stumble upon TTATT.
But the GB make so many boneheaded decisions that I've come to expect it from them.
The only upside for WT would be that they say more angry activists are proof they are being persecuted and the end is so close.

My father died a few years back and I would love to see her marry again. I'd prefer it be a "worldly" guy but realize that's unlikely. She's a nice lady in good health. So do you know any nice older single JW men? Maybe your father or grandfather? You know the dating pool is small for cult members. -

“We are not done yet!” – Candace Conti reacts to appeal court decision
by Watchtower-Free inhttp://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/we-are-not-done-yet-candace-reacts-to-appeal-court-decision.
candace conti (pictured in her interview with abc) has spoken out for the first time about the appeal court decision.
as current and former jehovahs witnesses digest the news that watchtowers appeal against the candace conti verdict has faltered, albeit with the punitive element of the judgment reversed, candace has reacted for the first time by telling me: we are not done yet.. news spread on monday that the state appeals court in san francisco had upheld the $2.8 million compensatory damages in the original june 2012 verdict, but overturned the $8.6 million punitive award against watchtower.. the court decided that, though watchtower had neglected its responsibility to supervise known pedophile jonathan kendrick in field ministry, a church-sponsored activity, the organization had no duty to warn parents in the congregation that a pedophile was in their midst or report him to authorities.. an insightful report by investigative reporter trey bundy has suggested that the court reached its decision because the precedent set by the conti verdict might be too burdensome to enforce.. the burden would be considerable because the precedent could require a church to intervene whenever it has reason to believe that a congregation member is capable of doing harm, and the scope of that duty could not be limited with any precision, the judges wrote.. candaces attorney rick simons responded by pointedly telling bundy: they think in public policy terms that theres too much risk in broadening the churchs responsibility and liability so that it burdens what churches do.

You've admitted that you can't imagine doing more to be a better husband and yet she still takes you for granted. Which is why I gave the advice I did. The definition of insanity is to do the same things over and expect a different result. The time to love bomb her is when she does non-JW activities with you. Just prior to meeting time call her and tell her you're at her favorite restaurant and you have a romantic evening planned. Let her see that she has a choice between sitting like a bump on a log for two hours listening to tired nonsense or the time of her life with her husband. -

Your first impulse would be to be warm, which is fine when the cult does turn cold. But my point is that by being cold it causes her to think twice about taking you for granted, giving her insecurity that you might not always be around and that her actions have consequences.
And it appears to me that those are precisely the things that she needs to think twice about right now.

My advice? Flip the script.
If you're normally warm and loving, be cold and distant. If you normally help out around the house, let it slide... especially if she's too busy with meetings to do her fair share. Make sure you have your own things going on and let her see you having a good time doing them.
Sometimes you have to knock people off their pedestal on occasion to get them to appreciate you.
Reward the behavior in her that you want to see.
It may sound cruel but it is effective.
