  my good friend says i'm the only guy he knows that tells everybody about his birthday.

  he says being a jehovah's witness really screwed me up/.

  i just dont fit in anymore...finally figured it out...hate it.....

  even with my jw wife.....i have told her for awhile she is prob better off without me....i was party central in jwland....nobody has had me over for two years now....i guess cause i could not shut up about some real truths about the so-called truth....now i have agreed to shut up....these guys really do have a right to their own beliefs...i am very non-judgemental and always have been......i should have shut up two years ago or so...but damm......trying to fit in with your own marriage in order to save being shunned from your blood family and a very few what is left dub friends just sucks.....starting over at midlife is such a bitch.....such a bitch..........oompa.

  and ya...the fear of the unknown is really present......if all i have known is jw...i will prob not fit into real world either.

  What Has Hurt You Most About Being A Witness?

  for me, it's not having a "normal" childhood.

  being raised a jw will make you miss out on ordainary kid things.

  you can't have any friends except witnesses---and only jws that measure up.

  Dinner and alcohol - what will happen next

  last night, i had a friend over for dinner.

  nothing major, just ordered a pizza and talked a good bit about his business, family, vacations coming up.

  nothing really from a spiritual aspect, which was fine by me.

  Is JW's working for an apostate the same as making military weapons?

  should a jw knowingly work or be employed by a full blown apostate whether they are just inactive, df or da.

  i would think this would be the same as bad association, the manufacture of weapons or selling cigarettes.

  "Financially Obliged", Good thought Blondie. I am refering to individuals that are apostate JW's that employ JW's and the JW employees treat the employer as such.

  What's Your Opinion: Is Legal Marriage Important?

  hey everyone,.

  so i've been thinking about marriage a lot lately, with same-sex marriages being approved in some states, banned in others, and flip-flopped in still others (see: california).. i recently read an article in my local newspaper about how marriage is a personal and religious union that has no business being in any of our laws, and that the laws should instead be for a legal domestic relationship, to establish and recognize legal families, and that marriage should be altogether separate from that.

  i really agreed with all that was said in the article.. i want to get married.

  Just a thought I've been pondering. Should a JW knowingly work or be employed by a full blown apostate whether they are just inactive, DF or DA. I would think this would be the same as bad association, the manufacture of weapons or selling cigarettes.

  Shouldn't their god driven conscience kick in here. It's been expressed from the platform not to even be around apostates, DF or DA people. It's even been said you shouldn't have jeopardizing employment.

  i have only been on a couple of committee's for actual apostasy, and in one the brother never showed, and in the other, the person said they don't want to be a witness.

  but in having experience as an elder and a c.o., and in reading this forum, here are my suggestions.. do not say:.

  "i don't believe that the faithful and discreet slave is god's channel" - why not?

  Did people DONATE for the literature when you went out in service?

  i think i got a donation maybe once or twice here in the states.

  most of the friends don't ask for a donation.

  in south america, more people donated, but i think it's because it was phrased differently, we used to say, "you can give whatever you want for this magazine.
