So.....Are Jehovah's Witnesses A "Cult"?
by minimus inwhen i first joined this board, i felt they had "cultish" aspects but would not go to the point of saying the "c" word.. now, i unequivocally say that jws are a cult!.

Did anyone attend the Rosenberg DC in Texas?
by cawshun ininterested in hearing if attendance was up or down, did they speak about higher education and do the symbolic .
book burning?
my kids just got back from the 3 day dc, just courious how it went.

Thanks for the information. My kids didn't mention a thing about the talks. I couldn't let on that I knew what the talks would be about thank's to this JWD. My daughter and husband are both college grads. how could they not see a red flag go up when they talk negitive about higher education??? Still hoping for a light to go off in their brain.

Thank's Serg, It was a 3 day convention they attend every year and I was just wondering if attendance was down. I was just hoping to see a drop off. I keep hoping when they see not too many in attendance they will wonder why. I was hoping the talk on higher education might cause their eyes to open to what's going on. I just keep hoping for a light to wake them up. Thank you for your response.

Welcome, I agree that it's not a good idea to let her be alone with jw relatives. My heart goes out to you, my grand-children mean the world to me and your parents are missing out on one of the greatest gifts in life!

This is what really agravates me!! My son-in-law, raised jw and his sister raised jw are drinker's. Their mother, a pioneer is a wine and beer drinker. Oh yes they can have their booze but don't dare let my grand-kids have a birthday party. Funny, a lot of my daughters friends, 5, where killed in high school from drinking and driving accidents. I have never heard of any small children being killed at a birthday party. But one is evil, the other isn't. Can you guess which one?
I would be thrilled to see the Watch Tower ban drinking, that would be the one thing that would make them want out!!

by B_Deserter infor some reason, my birthday is one day off on here, but right now i am officially 26 years, 5 hours, and 40 minutes old.
unfortunately i was sick and unable to do anything meaningful.
fortunately if i milk this i could possibly get out of the convention.

Tossed out of the District Convention! What did I do wrong? I exist!!
by Terry inthis is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.

I'm so happy your so loved here on this forum. " If you don't love your brother whom you can see, then how can you love God whom you can't see." Are they really following God's word? No! I'm sorry they can still attack your emotional side but it really backs up everything written about the cult on this sight. {{{{HUGS}}}}

Unbelievable, the more I hear the more baffled I get to try to understand those buying into this malarky. My only answer is when they go to the meetings and DC's, they are totally not paying attention, they can't be. I really think they go because they have to show face other then that they must be listening to their ipods instead of what it being said. Or day dreaming waiting for the time to pass so they can get the heck out of there. I have attended a DC before with family and it was the most boring thing I have ever gone to, not a single thing was uplifting. They mentaly are not present, even when all the lights are on, their still in the dark!
