Trend,
This is another thing I don't understand, how they get away with coaching, both coach, daughter and sil., when I read how some of you had to give up playing sports in school. I guess now its more of a conscience thing. I get upset about it because the parents make the things they like to do a matter of conscience but they adhere to the rules when it comes to my grand-kids attending a school Christmas party or a birthday party.
I hope the congregation is having problems with them and their career choices. I can tell you they both love their coaching careers. I wish the WT would make them give it up and see how they like making that kind of sacrifice. I think would be a good balance for what they are asking of their children!
wouldn't it be cool to make a look-a-like watchtower magazine and fill it full of things that expose the real wt ?

i think it would be a laugh to give a party serving only foods like fairy cake, angelfood cake, devilled kidneys, devilled eggs.
in fact any food with the name of a supernatural being in it!!.
hb.
Hamsterbait, Give them two choices, a table full of all the foods you mentioned or a talbe with nothing but balogna on it, you know they would all head for the balogna.
Trend, You may be right, I do know my daughter and sil haven't been out in service to often. I know this because they have been involved in week-end basketball tournaments. They also have some games Mondays (which they would miss the Mon. meeting). They make most of their Sunday meetings though. They don't get out during the week to do FS because of their jobs. The demands on them by the WT are stressful, I just hope they get harrassed about not doing enough and realize its NEVER ENOUGH.
My daughter did tell me awhile back that they will no longer have the Monday night meeting. She saw it as, they realize how stressed our lives are with our jobs, school, homework. ect.... She felt they were doing a kindness. Talk about blinded by the light.
When we got to my daughters house they were just leaving. I'm not sure if they were both elders, I know the one man is, not sure about the other. I saw that they had their bible sitting on the table. I didn't ask my daughter why they were there, she said they come by every 6 months like it was a normal thing to do.
I just keep hoping something will make my kids feel like they are interfering in their lives and make them angry enough to say the HECK with it. I guess its wishful thinking on my part.
Thanks for all the replys.

since the wt control almost ever aspect of you life is there any food jw are forbidden to eat or play with.
When I was a Catholic we couldn't eat meat on Fridays, we had fish, tuna fish and mac and cheese.
I know my JW daughter wouldn't buy her kids Lucky Charms
I guess the JW's would like everyone to have a steady diet of Bologna!
Maybe so, it just seems funny they come during the Holiday Season, I guess its just to stay on them to keep on obeying the Org. keep doing what Jehovah asks. That Control thing to keep them thinking the way of the WT., making sure they don't have a Christmas Tree in the house, spying on them.
Sheesh, they have me thinking paranoid thoughts now.
Well, darn, I was hoping it was a sheparding call, maybe they were not being good little jw's.
I hit the wrong key, sorry. I called my daughter and asked if they were going to be home, we were going to take a ride out to see the kids. She said she was getting company, 2 elders were coming to visit. She said they usually come about every 6 months. I was just wondering if this is customary or are they getting a sheparding call? Anyway, she said they were coming around 3:30 and they usually stay around an hour. Then she called back and told us to come by sooner, that one of the brother's is long winded and likes to talk, talk, talk, and that if we show up maybe they will leave sooner.
Oh boy, I would love to be there when they show up, with ton's of questions, but I won't make my kids uncomfortable. I have a feeling they are making sure the Holidays aren't causing them to stumble, control, control, control.
Is this a customary call after the Christmas Holidays?
