  My continuing soap opera

  well the elders wanted to meet with the wife and i last week.

  one of the elders i like, the other one i did not feel comfortable with.

  so i told the wife this.

  I've been following your soap opera Jimmy and I think your taking the right stand. The elders have no business knowing anything about your sex life now or before marriage.

  Your wife is making her jw life miserable for you now, so how can it be any worse after you DA?

  Your kids will thank you one day! At least they will have one parent that isn't forcing the cultish way's on them.

  Your wife is comfortable making you uncomfortable, turn the tables. I'm not promoting meaness, I just think you shouldn't have to walk on eggs around her, see if she likes living that way.

  I do hope your marriage survives this.

  I am proud that you don't want your kids to live a life as a JW. No one else can save them from it but you.

  I think in the end, your wife will respect you for not caving.

  Now Some Witnesses Are Buying Backpacks To Get Ready For The Great Tribulation!

  some witnesses are making sure they're ready for the great day.

  i've heard certain family members are getting supplies ready including 5 gallons of water, cans of food that can be opened without a can opener, and other "survival" stuff.

  they have figured that since the awake (i think) reported how the "friends" got ready for hurricane katrina, they too must be ready for survival when the storm of armageddon rains down.. what will they think of next?.

  If the clean up after Armageddon takes about 700 yrs. do you think what they pack will be enough to last that long. Maybe they should pack seeds for growing all the flowers we see in the awakes, or seeds for vegetables. Water, how long will the water be contamainated from all the dead, oh maybe Jah will make it rain for 40 days and nights. How can intelligent people fall for this nonsense??

  Thanks Bubblie, I just never know what to bring up to them. When they think anything critical of the Wt is evil or apostate, the wall goes up. I thought if I could drop the book off in their mail box maybe they would be tempted to read it. My son in law maybe, my daughter is not a reader and too busy to sit down and read a book. If my son in law would read it I know he would discuss it with her. I just never know for sure what to do.

  Thank you for responding. I can't wait to read the book. Have any of you tried giving the book to jw's? I thought I could drop it in my kids mail box. I just worry that they will throw it out with the garbage. I have to find a way for them to read it. Any ideas?

  Thanks Gary, I have read the reviews and can't wait to read it. I really want to get it to my JW kids. I was thinking about just droping it in their mail box, but don't want them to suspect me. I can play dumb like I have no idea what they are talking about. I just don't want them keeping my grand-kids from me. I'm getting no where with them and so worried about my young grand-kids being raised in this so called truth.

  i was given permission by a jw friend of my wife and me to post this experience.

  she's anonymous and posts on the board.

  she is married to a witness still but is fighting on behalf of children in her congregation to not be a next victim of a pedophile who attends her congregation.

  I too agree with elsewhere, this guy can not get away with this. First a pat on the bottom, what next? As long he get's away with the pat, he will think its safe to take it a bit further. The elders covering over this are just as guilty.

  I think it would be hard to bring the news in on it, you would have to have proof. Use a camera phone to catch him patting the girls or any time he touches the girls. With his past record, he has no business touching or patting any young girls.

  my son has invited me to his kh to hear the co's talk.

  Lavendae, I have visited KH on a couple of Sundays. I can tell you, there was nothing uplifting about any of it. Just sooooo boring! I have gone to 2 memorials and again, most boring ritual ever. I will never step foot in a KH again or ever go to antoher memorial. Oh and if you ever plan to go to a District Convention, that is the top of their boring list.

  I just politely refuse when I'm invited to go now. I don't talk it down, just let them know I'm not interested.

  I try to plant little seeds when the right time allows. My sil came in the house one night with lottery tickets, he said: " We can buy lottery tickets now" . I said: " Oh, they changed that doctrine?. I hope they change the doctrine on blood tranfusions before your kids ever need one". No response from him, and I didn't say anymore. I look for those types of oppourtunities.

  I learn so much from this forum, by reading here, it helps me to have information that helps me to think quick and have an answer or question about some of their doctrines
