How have Jehovah`s Witnesses ever gotten away with being a Tax Exempt Religion ?
by smiddy3 ini can never get my head around this one ?
don`t the powers that be ever really investigate religions that claim exemption from paying taxes because they claim they are a not for profit religion ?.
you would have to be a brain dead imbecile not to see that the religion known as the" watchtower bible and tract society" otherwise known as "jehovah`s witnesses" are nothing more than a religious publishing house that have made x amount of $$$$$ over the years since their inception in the late 1800`s to this day.

How ironic it is for an organization that feeds bullshit to people through the literature it publishes to pull in money and get tax exempt status.
It some ways the (Worldly) American government let this happen through its high protection and support of religious institutions.
Liberty and freedom for all I guess

There has been a lot so called self identifying religious organizations based in the US that were really businesses hiding behind a nonprofit tax exempt religion.
What makes the WTS/JWS stand out is that all the money it accumulates does not go out to help in local communities as in charities to help the disadvantaged.
This religious Publishing house is one that really was a business that exploited people's belief in the bible, the leaders interpretations of the bible and to push a tainted commercialized version of the Gospel of Jesus.
Exploiting tax exempt status by the WTS's leaders goes as far back as the early 1900's with the likes of J Rutherford. He intentionally deeded the property of a luxury home which he lived in San Diego as a relgoius compound to exempt from paying any local property taxes. He used the money of the WTS to live a luxury lifestyle, helped no doubt by the tax exempt "Religious" organization he ran the WTS./JWS.

Do as we SAY, but not as we DO!
by BoogerMan in"it's easier to fool people than it is to convince them that they've been fooled.
it's not just jw's who blindly follow their leaders.
it's horrifying to see how easily mass-hysteria has been instilled in a nation.

I'm going to take a stab and suggest if Boogerman got the virus and got deftly ill hospitalize, close to kicking the bucket etc., he would be bitching about why didn't the government impose the shutdown sooner ?

The ransom makes no sense
by BourneIdentity inif mankind needed to be redeemed from sin and death, why didn't the redemption happen as soon as jesus successfully lived his entire life without sin and sacrificed his life?
if he was successful, the price was paid and we'd all be living forever.
it's all bullshit, or jesus fucked up and sinned, so it nullified his sacrifice.

All religions formulated from spiritualism have been imaginary illusions based from human ignorance from the people who created them, including Christianity which morphed from ancient Hebrew practices..
If that is so, is it surprising when they are logically analyzed they make irrational sense ?

Seems to be always someone bitching about shut downs or shut downs that weren't soon enough .Governments have to act to whatever information that is given to them, that's their responsibility, they get their information from specialists and outside secular information from around the world.
Thankfully these shut downs are now being lifted in many parts around the world and this was also projected to occur when the restrictions were established.
I personally think governments made the right decision for most parts in shutting down most social environments to protect, observe, evaluate and control to what was happening with this virus.
Some of their decisions were not the best to their most causative effect but someone had to take control over of the matter or otherwise the results would have been regrettably worse.
I believe a vaccine will be coming forward in the near future, when that occurs and its distributed throughout populations, confidence will return and market capitalism will get back on its feet, it may be a slow and gradual return but it will return, it always does.

Top Ten List of What Happens Next...
by Farmer Jim1 inwhat does everyone think will happen next on the back of the coronavirus pandemic?.
these are my suggestions;.
1) coronavirus will have a disproportionate effect on jw ‘growth’ countries like in south america and africa.

Another possible perspective is that it is known that when people in general are under stress and personal strife they do seek out some consolation from religion, so there could be a present urge for people to attend JWS meetings.
The GB heads are using this virus pandemic as a " See this is just another sign that we are near the end "

Governments are starting to remove restrictions toward large gatherings like religious groups at the their designated churches etc. when this happens the JWS will rejoin and the Fear, Obligation and Guilt and will be reinserted.
Many JWs like going to meetings because its "their" designated social group, so they would be glad to see and get reacquainted with one and another.
One thing that might happen if there is going to be a financial recession it may impose stress onto people to give less donations to the Org.
That's not going to necessarily hurt the WTS for now since its still sitting on the millions from the sale of properties it has owed.
