  The National Anthem

  recent controversies in america brought this to mind , although i don’t want this to become a political thread , rather to discuss the wts rules that stop a jw showing respect for the national anthem.. the watchtower says that doing so is an act of idolatry, giving worship to the state or its icon.

  as such witnesses remain seated when the anthem is played.

  in britain people simply stand quietly to show respect, there is no hand gesture.. when i was a boy, every cinema show and theatre concluded with the anthem,being played .usually it was orchestrally with no words sung.

  Anthems are a way or vehicle for people to express respect and pride for their country, it also creates an identity for people connecting them with their homeland.
  

  The WTS hates that they want people to show honor, loyalty and respect to their organization and the top GB leaders and give them some money as well so they can continue to lie and deceive people.

  The WTS is a power cult where have built up a semblance of power around themselves by proclaiming they are god's select chosen ones.

  Economic Recovery after COVID-19

  it feels like we've really turned a corner, this morning especially.. the covid lockdowns are ending and medical systems were not overwhelmed plus there are existing treatments that have been proven to be effective (like hydroxychloroquine) and new vaccines and medicines in the pipeline.

  a week or so ago the dems were dead against opening things up but since they are encouraging protests (which often turn violent) they can't continue that stance - thus proving trumps claim that it will soon be gone.

  the majority of the deaths were politician-assisted (which i hope people are prosecuted for) so it's not the big risk we were led to believe and (over) reacted to.. the bls reported this morning that the us economy just added a huge number of jobs (most on record) and will undoubtedly benefit even more from a drive to source local production and supply chains going forwards.

  I think the concerning question is whether or not a reliable and effective vaccine is introduced, if it does and its distributed quickly, we would see pretty much all restrictions removed making way for economies revive .

  Stop and consider all the hotels all over the world and the people who work within that industry , then you have the airline industry.

  Plain and simple there are a lot of people out of work right now.

  Shit all this guy had to do was just go down to the police station and admit he was passing counterfeit bills , they might have let him go that night with a date to return to court.

  Recovery will be slow and gradual, if and when a vaccine is developed and distributed, this will enhance the recovery.

  Tourism is a large expanding industry which needs to be reactivated and that wont happened until cross border travel reopens.

  Expect the DNC to be a complete shit-show as everyone turns on each other.

  You just know Biden is going to get up, become confused and call Obama the N word from the podium.

  I would like to pose a online wager to Simon which is fixed upon who will win the next US federal election.

  I think Biden will win, based mostly upon people in the US are just tired of Trump and they have had enough of the guy.

  So perhaps this unfortunate affair doesn't have to do with race at all.

  A guy gets caught doing something illegal, he tries to escape arrest by the called in police, he struggles with the officers to escape, they finally pin him down, the holding technique used was physically exceeding to cause the man to go into cardiac arrest assisted by the drugs he was on, the suspect is taken to a hospital where he dies.

  This could have happened to any person of any racial background .
