  JW Response to COVID

  i haven't been on here in quite some time so i apologize if i missed a similar thread already (i did look for one :) ) anyways, just to be clear i think the jw response to covid in general has been really positive and proactive and they've done really well trying to educate people on covid, doing zoom meetings, etc to prevent spread within the congregations.

  the part that i find interesting is how compliant and non-apocalyptic the branch has been during all of this.

  even as someone who's a bit of a skeptic i found myself wondering if this might be the beginning of the end between covid, economic upheaval, and blm.

  Being that the WTS/JWorg is a fear mongering religious publishing house that exploits the public's basic belief in the bible, is it any wonder or surprise the GB heads are exploiting this pandemic to its fullest potential ?

  i would like to ask the ex-jws on this site to put their ‘apologists hat’ back on for a moment, so that i can go through the overlapping generation teaching in an attempt to make sense of it.

  i apologise if these points have already been addressed on this site.a quick background for the reason for my request… having never confronted a jw apologist on the topic, i recently engaged with a jw regarding the official understanding of a ‘generation’ and unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to the points i was making.

  i was left a little confused as to what the official jw response would/should be.so i was hoping that my thoughts below might be considered from an apologist’s perspective.the point in question relates to this section of the watchtower article below from 2008, as well as the jw.org video explanation of the overlapping generation:---:w08 2/15[box on page 25] can we calculate the length of “this generation”?the word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

  In short the the JWS religion was started by men who ran the Watchtower Corporation so that's why its core doctrines were falsely contrived.

  The WTS/JWS have been preaching a tainted commercialized version of the gospel of Jesus for over 100 years.

  The men who started this organization were false prophet apostate/charlatans.

  What the WTS/JWorg. did is create their own meaning and definition of what the word usage is toward Generation.
  

  WIki and other sources have the usually accepted definition of the word Generation...

  A generation is "all of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively." It can also be described as, "the average period, generally considered to be about thirty years, during which children are born and grow up, become adults, and begin to have children.

  The key point to their false acclamation is that once you past the typical life span of 100 years starting from 1914, the generation of people witnessing certain events of that generation(s) ends. A new generation has now followed the previous.

  What that means is that the generation of people living now and for a few years more are not of the previous generation that witnessed events starting from 1914.

  The overlapping generation doctrine is the WTS/JWorg attempt to twist and embellish Jesus own words written into scripture and was done so to uphold and support the previously established doctrine of 1914.

  That in itself was an act of apostasy for Jesus himself condemned his faithful followers toward making up a set a time upon god's own sacred time and really that is why most other Christian faiths have not set time like what the leaders of the Watchtower Corporation have done.

  In biblical epistemology a generation was to signify or accepted as the life span of an individual, so once you past lets say 100 years you have past that generational time length.

  Talk about false religion !

  Overlapping generations = lies to support and cover over previously stated lies.

  The JWS religion was built and formed upon a foundation of lies to create

  a formulated " Truth "
  

  Perhaps not so surprising being that this religion has a publishing house active at its operational core.

  Election polls are only useful for creating assuming speculation, particularly when the actual election is months away..
