Since spirits and gods were derived from human ignorance of the world we live long ago, human ignorance is a known and accepted fact.
The question of god or science depends where you want to exercise your rational logic.
Since science is really not empowering for men and its quite a bit harder to cultivate money from it, religion
is a viable vehicle that can create that sought after power and money.

JWS kids are being trained to be sales Representatives for the WTS. as soon as they can read, its their designated mission set up by the WTS.
Same reason why they discouraged higher education.

they popped it in right away and this is what happens:.

i've just finished my fourth and final "under the microscope" series of articles in which (hopefully) i've debunked many of the arguments often put forward by those claiming that jehovah's witnesses must be god's sole channel of communication with mankind.. this latest article focusses mostly on "the finished mystery" and the many errors contained therein that prove it couldn't possibly have been approved by christ when he was ostenisbly selecting the bible students as his chosen earthly representatives in 1919. i would like to thank and acknowledge alfred as being a huge help in compiling a list of key "highlights" of the book that serve to expose it for what it really is - a total work of fiction and absurdity.. shortly before alfred left this forum, we discussed the possibility of using his list to produce a special leaflet that people could print out themselves and insert in their "revelation climax" books, or "revelation climax" books belonging to family members.

discussions on jwn have led me to start reading about the substantive work of psychiatrists carl jung, john weir perry, loren mosher, stanislav grof and others in "transpersonal psychology".. stanislav explains in this 1-hour long but very revealing video that he had no exposure to religion but became aware of dimensions beyond space-time through controlled psychiatric research experiments with psychedelic drugs (lsd).
this got him started on further research (much without drugs) in "transpersonal psychology" for around 45 years.. his terminology and explanations of the "hylotropic" versus "holotropic" states of consciousness maps powerfully to the "spiritual" versus "physical" in scripture and life (for me at least):.

Transpersonal Psychology affirms that LSD can subconsciously make people think there's a spiritual dimension.
There are many other mind altering drugs that can do the exact same thing.

Agree sizemik, religion has been the motivating factor for some really good things, but there are some terribly
wrong things which were spurred on by religious dogma and prejudicial strife supporting that dogma.

Sure there many religious institution's that have helped the poor and disadvantaged, the sick and homeless ones.
There were real positive things which originated by using following the examples of lets say Christ in the Christan faith.
Not including religions like the JWS and others mind you.
