  the argument has been made on many occasions that death and suffering are a result of adam's sin.in fact, the bible is so clear on this "fact" that it is one of the few things on which nearly every christian denomination will agree.. "therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned romans 5:12. however, i would like to present the case that god had, in fact, not told adam this very thing, and consequently, adam was unaware of what really would take place upon eating the fruit.notice this verse:.

  "but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.

  " gen.2:17. i highlighted the word "you" because this is absolutely critical.why ?

  i went to my usual place for the study tonight and no one is there....... why did they cancel it, this was my night out to get away from the family and kids , after the meeting i usually headed over to moe's to get spiritualized with a few beers.. great.... now i've gotta come up with a another excuse for marge so i can go out tuesday nights.. do jws go out in the door to door work in the evenings ?.

  i remember as a child being impressed by several older 'brothers' who were well educated and articulate.

  we had guys with degrees and one had a ph.d in some branch of physics - a professor.

  now you know as well as i do that that level of education was, and still is, mightily discouraged by the wt but these guys had managed it somehow.. as an impressionable kid it put 'the truth' on a more secure footing for me, after all if these intelligent men could believe .

  Reduction in Pio Hours & New Message?

  hello all,.

  i have heard over the last couple of weeks , from 2 different sources that the pioneer hours are to be reduced to 60, this has come from uk bethel sources, but not seen anything posted here about that here... also that the new wt for the witnesses contans an article that gives 3 new points of 'revised light'... any ideas what these are about?.

  i have also had lots of fun recently, questioning people on what the scripture mean whan it says .. do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together, even more so as you behold gods day drawing near... in view of the recent book study stuff....

  When I was in the organization I thought to myself: "pioneer", "circuit overseer", "elder", screw it all, Jesus said we are all "brothers" - Mt 23. If they reduced the hour requirement I still wouldn't do it. Those still in the organization need to stop pleasing man. If they do service it should be for God, and screw the "field service report". RE: regular pioneers: 70 hours, auxilary: 50 hours, and 'special' pioneers: 100 hours (my guess)

  fairly accurate reporting of the hours as well.

  while growing up, my dad maintained a rather huge wts library.

  i liked the idea of being able to pick out one of those old books from the1940s or earlier and read what they were saying back then.

  well for the first time, in september of 2006 at the age of 40, i finally became a home-owner.

  jehovah's witnesses are businessmen who exploited religion to create an empire or a kingdom of their own design true or false.. complete with servitude slaves and the laws to keep them in line.. after just listening to some of da judge rutherford speeches he certainly was a narcissistic opportunist that wanted it all.

  and its not too easy to understand why a lot of people fell for his tritely bullshit, what a charismatic salesman.. you can really see how he was intensionally was trying to build a kingdom around himself with himself sitting of course at the steering wheel.. in modern terms we would call a person like this a power junkie out of control .

  its apparent i suppose he did finally get the power and wealth that he desired, unfortunately at the cost of the love and respect of his family.. and its unfortunate too that this disingenuous character's legacy still remains and maintains itself in the wts.

  as all of you know, i do not believe the bible's divine... but if i did, i find that much of what the society says is outright blasphemy.

  notice this insert from the april 15th, wt... you can look it up for yourselves as i'm certain i'm not taking this out of context.

  if you believe the bible is the word of god (i find it hard to believe that anyone can take it literal) but if you do, then what about the souls of your family still in?
