You want to do what you think is right feel free.
There are certain court rules that the Court must adbide by and there are certain things going on up here that I have not made you aware of nor will I.
Yes I have requested that people don't write the Judge as any smart and good lawyer will tell you seeing the Court has to stay impartial.
But if you want to go for it - don't let me stop you. Please active your plan and fire off what ever you want to whoever you want to.
And if you feel I haven't been helping out enough well that's fine too.

Spanner,
It was an oversight.
If you do a search (I think expat posted it) for the court transcript and the media reports from back then you will read all about it.
Needless to say the Judge who determined the daughter's fate, was less than impressed with the mother's actions.

Spanner,
As Uzziah stated:
The mother did try to rip the tubes out the daughter's arms in the hospital and was stopped by the nurses. That was in the papers back in about March/April 2002.
I still think it is assault and battery and not crimminal negligence. Crimminal negligence is more for doctors or people in professions or licenced individuals who in the course of their duties do something that is knowingly wreckless.
As for the request to delete the post. Absolutely not. The debate is a good one.

Yeah I see your point.
But I, for one, think she does have a right to say it just like you have the right to be disgusted with her comments.
Yes I do think Island Women could have offered some support to Larry seeing all of what has happened to him though.
I also note that Larry has kinda asked, in public, that his wife be charged under s. 217 to 220 of the Criminal Code of Canada. To some that is outrageous seeing their daughter did die of natural causes.
I believe a charge of assualt under the CC of C could be thought up seeing the wife did try to pull the IV tube out of the daughter. I think that was what Larry could have said.
I will think about your request some more Jack.

Why?
I think she is trying to give her point of view. I don't know if it is the correct point but then again I don't know if I always give the correct point either at times.
Elborate a little.

re: update on jehovah's witness child abuse civil trial - vicki boer v. watch tower et.
Obiwan,
You exactly correct regarding the final offer.
When you hear someone say that Vicki was suing for the money. Remember, it came out in court that she was all for accepting the 56,000 dollars which included legal costs and an apology as long as she wasn't "gagged".
All she wanted to do was tell her story and that is what the offer proves.
As for its public release. It will be part of the court record in the coming weeks. Have about two months patience and behold something might appear before your eyes on this board (hint).

jgnat,
I strongly feel that Larry has a good case. Her Honour's comments are outstanding and really show just how dangerous a JW can be when looking after their children (ie. they let someone else think and tell them what to do).
Also in the Vicki Boer decision we have a judge telling the world that JWs have NO FREE WILL and must follow, not what the parents say, but what the elders and church say.
Larry can use that to his advantage as well.
All in all though - I wish I could bring this family back together. They went through a horrible situation and the WTS made it worse for them in a time where they needed peace and help from the medical community.
I hope one day that Larry's wife takes off the rose coloured glasses and sees that natural whole blood transfusions occur all the time in this big old world. And if Jehovah God allows that then maybe just maybe it was okay to give her daughter a life saving blood transfusion.
Good work Larry in getting this into the press. You in the west and Vicki in the east have really given the WTS a bad name lately. I just hope both of you can financially recover.
