Sorry, Didn't want to sound too critical...that was just the first thing that popped into my mind when I opened your topic the 1st time. No worries. I agree, soccer is great exercise....my kid will be playing next year when he's old enough. I will encourage him all through school to play any sport he wants...and live vicariously through him since I didn't get to when I was in school!
You're right though, even though it may not be actually condemed...the wording about all sports has a negative spin. I think most witnesses (that want to play anyway) ignore this type of stuff very easily. Heck 90% probably won't even see it, since most don't read the mags anyway ;-)

Cedars, I really enjoy your contributions to the site...and your website as well! I think your choice of words is a bit dramatic though.."condemned" is not really how I see it at all. Not to sound WT apologist at all but I think they are just bringing out some information (hyped or not) about soccer balls being headed. I would be concerned about my child repetedly heading a ball while playing soccer. Informaton is easily found about this:

Believe me, I am not a fan of the Awake...but I think saying it's condemned just isn't where this was going. I hardly think JCs will be formed due to heading a soccer ball, or wearing designer clothes. Just my 2 cents.

I thought Flight of the Concords was hilarious, some ep. more than others. Watch 1 ep at least. It's a different kind of funny...the premise is two guys from New Zealand are in NYC to make it big in the music world. Lot of songs during the ep that go along with the story...here is my favorite

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.
