Anyone notice how only some JWs are on FB or social media

i notice only about half the people i knew in the borg are on social media.

anyone else notice this?.

interesting...where I live, tons of JWs are on FB. I've never heard of it being "demonized" (sounds a bit dramatic) however I realize things and attitudes are different in diff parts of the US. I guess in my area things are a bit more laid back.

biggest facepalm moment- teenage pioneer says she pioneers because "the overlapping generation is getting up there in years ,so time is short" as the saying goes "those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it".

very mind numbing day nothing you haven't heard a hundred times before..

Counting time calling on inactive ones?

had a couple of witnesses stop by yesterday to say the usual "we miss you, missed you at the meeting, just checking in on you, etc.

" i've always liked this guy so we spoke for a few minutes.

my wife said that they could count their time since i am inactive.

I remember this being a thing when I was an MS .

I always like to point out to my wife that "the friends" ONLY ever stop by with the "We miss you" BS...WHILE they're 'on the clock'

I ask her "when was the last time one of your old friends, or elder buddy stopped by on there own time, or called"

granted, I don't want them too...but 99% of the time, they're doing it while out in service. We're an easy stop before or after the 11am starbucks break. LOL

Leah Remini - Scientology Documentary

i know some has been posted about leah remini and her split from scientology.

i just wanted to add after finishing it last night, it is a must watch for questioning jws...every episode has familiar situations and parallels that will make jws really think (or squirm).

watch it with someone you want to wake up!!!!

It probably will not work outside of US. It may also require you to enter you cable carrier info to make sure you're authorized to view, I don't know.

I imagine it will be available on other services in the near future (Hulu, Netflix etc.)

Thanks for your input on this thread. I wonder if she had any idea she'd be helping people other people in cults...JW, Mormon, etc.

I just wanted to add after finishing it last night, it is a must watch for questioning JWs...every episode has familiar situations and parallels that will make JWs really think (or squirm). Watch it with someone you want to wake up!!!! It will definitely help. My wife who is inactive but still is torn and believes (elder dad, pioneer mom) was anxious to watch it every week. She made comments about the similarities. If you watch with a fully "in" JW, it will make them a little uncomfortable for sure.

Elders School Question .....

are there current elders schools happening around the country or are they at the point of requiring elders to go back to mecca (aka new york)?.

and a more specific question: is it possible there is a school this next week in the seattle area?

(just curious, it has to do with one of my in laws who's an elder out there).

Thanks for your answers....I also got conformation from a friend who lives out in WA that they are having 1 at the assembly hall that's south of seattle.
