Thanks for your answers....I also got conformation from a friend who lives out in WA that they are having 1 at the assembly hall that's south of seattle.
wonder whats on the agenda
are there current elders schools happening around the country or are they at the point of requiring elders to go back to mecca (aka new york)?.
and a more specific question: is it possible there is a school this next week in the seattle area?
(just curious, it has to do with one of my in laws who's an elder out there).

this is just a first step clapping.
it's like the fed one quarter bases point at a time.
I bought mine for 250 US, It's an HP 14" screen. If it's for surfing online, watching movies (netflix etc) it's great. Does not lock up, (ok, maybe once or twice a month) boots up within 10 seconds. light and quiet. I love mine.
i feel it is comfortable to say,.
yes her arc hearing has come and gone.. yes her hearing was so powerful, her allotted time was tripled!.
yes, information handed over "mind blowing" response from arc.
well, sounds very interesting. I am not familiar with umbertoecho or his/her story. Guess I'll have to do some 'search box' research tomorrow morning so I can understand this a bit better.
I do like this sentence though: "The wbts in Australia are shitting themselves." :-)
i'd like to start off by saying that i will be very vague in everything i say.
i am fairly "high up" in jw land and have to be somewhat careful how i word and say stuff.
sorry in advance if any specific details are left out.
thedepressedsoul.....thank-you for the contribution! Welcome to the board, looking forward to more.
I don't really understand why some are being a little negative to you for the content of your post, If those people know all this stuff already why don't they move on instead of blasting / interrogating a new member with a contribution.
As I said, I appreciate your post, and just know it helps a lot of lurkers who maybe don't have the time / ability to pour over every thread...yours is a great summary of what's happening !!
Thank-you..........hope to hear from you soon with some more good stuff!

I am really liking these Aussies!
They saw through the WT Bull$hit, here are two examples that I found after skimming through the pdf
1)
In the light of such doctrinal teachings, it is submitted that the message published to
members of the Jehovah’s Witness organisation about their relationship with secular
authorities is not as simple as that described by Messrs Toole and Spinks. It is submitted
that, in fact, the organisation presents its members with conflicting and ambiguous
teachings regarding their relationship with secular authorities, thereby fostering a
distrust of such authorities.
2)
Similarly, when asked if the Governing Body members saw themselves as ‘Jehovah God’s
spokespeople on earth’, Mr Jackson did not answer, instead telling the Royal
Commission that it ‘would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only
spokesperson that God is using’.21 Mr Jackson’s professed humility is not, however,
supported by the Jehovah’s Witness organisation’s own publications. The organisation’s
handbook for members, Organised to Do Jehovah’s Will, teaches with reference to the
‘faithful and discreet slave’ (and thus, the Governing Body)22 for instance, that the
congregation hopes to ‘draw ever closer to Jehovah by manifesting complete trust in
the channel that He is using to direct His people today’.23 A confidential manual
produced by the Governing Body and entitled Branch Organization January 2015 (the
2015 Branch Organization Manual) records that the Governing Body ‘is organized to
take the lead as Jehovah directs it by Holy Spirit’.24 Thus the Governing Body is believed
by Jehovah’s Witnesses to be the ‘channel’ by which Jehovah’s will is communicated to
the ‘Christian’ congregation and the Governing Body is directed by Jehovah in all that it
does. It was Mr O’Brien’s evidence that the Governing Body is Jehovah God’s
representative on earth providing definitive Scriptural interpretation.
last night on 20/20, they did an interview with leah remini (american actress know for king of queens tv show) she was raised in scientology since the age of 8, and recently left rather publicly.
she re-enforced what we all know, that they are bat shit crazy (like any cult) but also talked about how hard is it to leave something that's been a part of you for so long.. so many interesting parallels to our world (former world) of jw'dumb.
it's a great ep to watch with someone you are trying to awaken.
Finklestein ... oops, sorry I missed that before I posted.
Maybe follow Fink's link above and post any additional comments on that thread since it's longer.

"I think watching experiences of people in other high control groups / cults is very powerful."
Yes, well said. She talked about how painful shunning is, the fact that members report on each-other, she's very open and honest and admits she took part in these things too. Even after learning some of the weirder teachings like 'Xenu' galactic warrior (LOL) she still continued on, she just wasn't ready to part with it, and the thought of not being able to talk to her family if she did so.
One scene showed a meeting room, that looked so much like a kingdom hall. She stated the she is "an Apostate" ... very interesting episode.
