  Sadly because of Russia...JW's have similar REAL images of Russian police, going into KHs etc doing this very thing. That crap gives them ammunition to say "See, it's happening there...just a matter of time"

  Edit: after I posted this I noticed in the thread somebody already copied and pasted the info.

  That number (30) that the OP referenced was an average of the number of people supposedly killed by the vaccine.

  Not that I blindly trust everything coming from the government (CDC) but here is the official CDC info for that stat referenced by the original poster of this thread:

  At first I thought this was a strange question. (no offense lamallcool ;-) I think it speaks to the diversity in the JW "mindset" & "conscience" in various parts of the US & world. I'm my area when I was an MS, groups of us went to the local US Airforce base for the annual airshow. It was not a big deal at all, and I never heard any murmuring about it. I think it's the same idea that witnesses can 'allow' themselves to go into old churches in Europe to "appreciate" the architecture.

  We also went to a , MS house on the 4th of July...he had a great deck with a view of the fireworks. I was fortunately in a very liberal hall...we even had a local needs once on the "friends" (some of them) imposing their strict conscience on the activities of others....but I'm sure in smalltown, central USA the very opposite talk was being given "counsel your brothers when you see them enjoying worldly entertainment" lol. Crazy cult.

  and one of my jw relatives said they were told by some elders that meetings and field service will resume before the end of the year.. they said this covid virus was a test, like when the romans breached jerusalem and retreated, only to come back later and sack jerusalem.

  While I agree that Joe's a houseplant, lol. I think this is trickle down from pandemic shortages (from skimming a few articles)

  According to this quote it's gone up since April of last year. I don't think it's Joe's fault or Trump's for that matter

  The National Association of Home Builders says lumber prices have increased more than 200% since April 2020. The “price per thousand board feet” surpassed $1,100 in mid-April, up from less than $500 in June of 2020, the NAHB reported based on data from Random Lengths.

  Here is another cut and paste from a builders website:

  Early on in 2020, when the pandemic was just starting to gain global publicity, lumber prices slumped. Starting in early March, and continuing on through mid-June, prices plummeted and held at a relatively low mark.

  The initial slump was a product of the global shutdown in response to the novel Corona Virus outbreak. Construction operations in most locations were shut down, and lumber mills and other processing facilities were left with an excess supply of material. So, are you wondering what caused lumber to increase from roughly $250 per 1000 board feet to over $850 per 1000 board feet?

  We’ve seen some of the lowest interest rates in recent history over the past few months in the US as a response to the fragility in the economy.

  Low-interest rates for both home mortgages and new construction financing led to a boom in the building and remodeling industries when businesses opened their doors in June.

  The boom in the building/remodeling industries turned the tables on the lumber industry. Mills and other processing facilities went from having an excess supply of wood to a shortfall in what seemed like a moment’s notice.

  Ultimately, as the demand for lumber continued to increase over the past few months, supply has not been able to catch up, resulting in an increase in lumber’s cost by 340% or more in particular locations.

  Why haven't they re-started the 'cart witnessing'?

  we are nearly 18 months into this pandemic and lot has been learned and our behaviour modified to make things safer for us, e.g.

  the wearing of face masks and social distancing.. many countries such as australia, new zealand, the uk and usa either have things under control or have vaccinated a large portion of the population.

  therefore, given the very passive nature of the 'cart witnessing', i can't see why this hasn't be re-started.

  I thought it interesting that we had a couple Mormon girls in our neighborhood...They knock and then backup to the sidewalk, while wearing their masks. I guess God is blessing the Mormon d2d work lol.
