  JW Tall Tales

  recently i was cleaning my bookcase and found an old book that i enjoyed as a child.

  it had stories in it such as paul bunyan, pecos bill, and john henry.

  while these stories are fictional, i enjoyed them because they were entertaining, and easy to understand.. fast forward to the late 70's when i was a teenager sitting at the ca hall in janesville wisconsin.. the speaker was explaining the great sacrifice god made in sending his son down to earth to die for all mankind.

  I have a true story that would have been used from the platform if I had still been a JW

  In the Spring of 2008 I stopped at the mailbox and opened my tax rebate check from Bush ($935.00). I drove around the corner to my house and see that my cat has been severly wounded. I rush her to the vet hospital to undergo surgery. When I pick her up the next day the bill was the exact amount of the rebate check that I had received hours before.

  If this had happened in my pioneer days this experience would have been used many times over to show how Jehovah takes care of us exactly when we need it and how much we need. And probably something about Jehovah using the secular authorities to bless his people.

  What happened to your marriage after you stopped believing?

  i know some posters here went through or are going through some painful things right now because of no longer believing when they have a husband / wife that still does.

  others were able to free the minds of their spouse.

  i'm assuming the latter is a lot more rare.. anyone that wishes to share their story, please do.. i'm looking to pass the info on to someone who doesn't totally believe, but may marry a jw.

  I was married for 20 years. I did not say anything about my doubts to my husband until I was ready to bolt. I knew there was no possible way to leave the organization and stay married to my husband. One day (four years ago) I told him I did not want the religion, the marriage or any of our so-called friends. I filed for divorce and took my two teen-age girls (there was no way in hell my daughters would be raised as JW's). I have NEVER regretted my decision.

  Knock Knock...."Who's there?" They came to MY DOOR!!

  it is a peculiar experience.. once you are out of the kingdom hall forever and haven't been in field service for many years...... a knock comes at your front door and you answer it only to find:.

  jehovah's witnesses!.

  that happened to me......finally.. in the last decade i don't think i've encountered anything other than mormons or drug ministry fund raisers at my door.. but--this time, it was the real thing.. it was two sisters and they weren't much older than their 20's.. they didn't know i was satan himself, of course and i was reluctant to interrupt them and tell them.. what to do---what to do?

  I'm pretty sure nobody understood a word I was saying!

  When I was a good JW, I remember seeing the moonies at the airport, I always wondered why their eyes looked like frisbees when they talked to you. Now I see that same look on all JW's.

  Why Jehovah's Witnesses Are Discouraged From Using the Internet

  at a recent series of circuit assemblies, the governing body put out warnings on what in their view is the latest danger from satan, designed to break the faith of jehovah's witnesses everywhere.. facebook.. yes, thats right, apparantly, the gb is concerned because a lot of people are having "facebook sex".

  they are meeting old friends who aren't jehovah's witnesses and getting it on with whomever would willingly sleep with them.

  evidentally, the gb would like their flock to believe that when jw's get on facebook and other social networking sites, fornication happens.. now, this is news.

  What is so sad is that so many witnesses believe that turning on the internet is tantamount with porn and masturbation. I have had my old JW parents remark many times "There is nothing good on the internet, it is nothing but Satan's trap". How the hell would they know? They have never had a computer in their whole senile life. However, now they are experts on the subject because they heard it from the platform.

  have you ever noticed that within the cong if your not a elder or ms you have no status.

  you may be educated, successful and respected by your worldly colleagues but that counts for nothing.

  any elder with the intellect of a flea who is incapable of having an intelligent conversation thinks he is a superior somebody 'cause he can parrot wt rhetoric.
