i remember sitting on my daddy's lap and driving an imaginary car, i also remember sitting on my mummies lap on the front seat, without a seat belt whilst my dad drove a real car.
i remember we bought fish and chips from the chippy wrapped in yesterday's newspapers.
i remember bouncing up and down on my space hopper in the garden.
i guess you are guaranteed to survive the "great tribulation" if you don't be a "kevin".
my family members are doubling down on their fervor about meeting attendance.
they are having an effect on some of my wishy washy long time inactive family.
Could someone post a link to that video? I know it has been posted before (Sorry)
i was raised as a jw and 1975 expectations were pretty intense.
as i recall, most people did not leave after the failed expectations but many s l o w e d down.
now, i think most of the 1975 witnesses are gone or barely in.. is the older generation still around in the kingdom halls or are they much gone?.
I remember the fervor very well. My father (almost 90) vehemently denies to this day that the society ever put any emphasis on '75....... it was the publishers that came up with all the excitement.
My parents and their elderly siblings still going strong
My 5 siblings and 39 first cousins ..... ALL OUT
i just tried to go to the site and there is a goodbye message.
i was a member there since 2010. i was really surprised.
i had just started posting there again after being away for a while.
JWR helped me immensely when I first left a decade ago. I loved the site and the people on it. JWR also made me aware of this site, where I burrowed a hole and made my home. Many, many thanks to JWR for all the support you gave me when I desperately needed it! Good night and Good luck!
great news!.
we are free!.
as of the 9th of june, me and my dear wife mrs. eden handed over our letters of disassociation at bethel in portugal, thus making official our departure from the jehovah's witnesses.
Very, very happy for the whole family. This is such wonderful news.
i'm at the water park with my five year old in green bay.
she was so happy to be spared another boring day like she endured at thursday's propaganda feast with her mother.
after breakfast we drove by the convention site.
RC replaced DC because Jehovah's chariot is always moving forward with new light. How blessed we are that we do not have to say DC anymore.
this grandmother found the best way to advertise jw.org by wearing a huge lapel pin.. .

Off subject......
I remember a "special needs" talk shortly before I left the org on sisters not cutting their hair short. It was quite strong. Any sisters that did not have some length to their hair would lose privileges.
does anyone else recall the big chart that hung at the front of every kingdom hall?.
it would be about 5 feet x 4 feet.
on the side of the chart, vertically listed, were the months of the year.
Yes, I do remember that...... Tinley Park congregation (Chicago area) I was very young.
Thanks for the memory!
When I was 5 years old I was interviewed at a circuit assembly with my family about what I liked the best about being a JW. My scripted response was......"The ice cream at the 'semmblies"
Now they don't even have ice cream anymore.
