The wall socket picture reminded me of the scene in the movie "Just Married" where Ashton tries to plug in a vibrator in this gorgeous Swiss Chalet Hotel socket and cannot figure out how to plug it in and finally ends up burning the place down.

I finally figured out that when I hear the British say "Gare Edge" it means garage (many years to figure that one out)
I'd like to know what Elton John meant in his song "Someone Saved My Life Tonght" when he says HP demands forever. Is this some British term?

i know there has been countless threads on this, some say the paedophile scandal, others say the blood ban, some say the conduct of their elders, others say the petty rules etc.
but there is usually one thing that seals every one's fate, tips you over the edge,finishes you off.i was fading, very closely to full inactivity, off the book study list, and very sporadic meeting attendance, which took me to the very last time i set foot in my kingdumb hall, this is what happened;.
it was the memorial of 1994, i hadn't set foot in the place for months, but thought a show at the memorial would keep the wife happy and the elders at bay for a bit longer, i drove to the hall being careful not to get there too early(the wife was already there and had saved me a seat) i walked up to my seat about mid way in the hall so a lot could see me, it was packed probably about 200 there, as i sat down ( about 3/4 mins to go) a sister in front of me turned around and said"we haven't seen you in a long time!
My Nail: Being married 20 years to an elder (very respected and loved) who smoked marijuana, watched porn, drunk most of the time, never worked, was incredibly dishonest in business dealings but was an absolutely perfect elder that every one loved.
i have heard that there is way more females in most congregations.
it seems the males are doing 12 hour a day window washing jobs and have no more energy left to attend a mind control session.
has anyone else noticed that trend?
Is it any wonder so many marriages in the borg are miserable? The poor single girl has to marry ANYBODY. It does not matter if he has all his parts or marbles for that matter- just anyone will do.
i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.
it was not typical in my experience.

It is interesting that the two seperate brothers that I personally knew were printed up in the papers for being child molesters before it ever became public knowledge in the congregation. It makes one wonder how many we never hear about.

Yes, one of the young elders in my last hall was molesting a number of the pre-teen girls. He was disfellowshipped and then committed suicide the night before his sentencing.
there's a lot.. one rule that is dumb is that a brother must wear a suit for a sunday public talk that he is giving.
any other time, the brother could wear a suit coat with a different pair of pants and not be counseled for it.. another dumb idea is that you cannot date a person unless you seriously might marry them.
if you're on a date, you were supposed to always have a chaperone and holding hands might not be allowed as well as sitting together.. what other dumb rules and ideas can you add?.
