  whats your take? When someone asks my wife what religion she is, she seems embarrassed to say she is a JW.

  so thinking back about the times when someone has asked my wife what religion she is.

  she sheepishly and seems almost embarrassed to say she is a jehovah witness.

  when someone asks me, i just say i am a christian.

  Even when I was a hard core JW, I was ALWAYS embarrassed to belong to an organization that society in general saw as stupid and insignificant.

  JW Expressions We Hate

  i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.

  " who talks like that?

  they must be relics of the fred franz era.

  hi all, what do you think about the experience on page 4 of 2016.2 awake?.

  maria, who is one of jehovah’s witnesses, was publicly insulted by a prejudiced woman, who caused quite a commotion.

  but instead of retaliating, maria calmly continued on her way.

  The majority of people walk away if some unknown ass**** publicly hurls insults at them. Most of us learn at an early age to stay clear of the crazy people and ignore them. It sounds appropriate that this nut then became a JW.

  i was a member of this community a long time ago and have lurked for years.

  well, i am back and still thoroughly conflicted, with my heart/loyalties as divided as ever.

  please welcome me back, hear me out, and make me feel as welcomed as before.. the wtbts has changed so very much in recent years that i feel trapped in a completely different religion altogether.

  Welcome back Doubtfully Yours!

  My heart really goes out to all of you that have to live a double life. I honestly do not know how many of you keep going. This past summer, while my condo was under construction, I lived with my dear old JW parents for 9 weeks. Before moving in, I told them that out of kindness to them I would go to the Sunday meetings. There are not enough negative adjectives to describe those nine Sundays.

  since i just signed up and posted a few times without doing this yet, here is my story..

  i think that i became a jehovahs witness because of my immaturity.

  i had some quirky personality traits, and i joined finding that i fit in because, as i said to myself: these people get me.

  Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow

  this is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.

  will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.

  he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

  i used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.

  i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.

  i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.

  542 on 16 august 2015, dr applewhite wrote to the legal representative of watchtower.

  australia and advised that she was unable to prepare a supplementary statement due.

  to other commitments.
