The Dublin "apostasy" after Ray Franz incident - searching for the audio testimony of John May
by Nostromo ingoogle is not my friend anymore, it seems, i cant find a thing.. i was searching for the audio file where john may, the elder from dublin, tells his story when he traveled to brooklyn to find out the truth about the ray franz incident.
i do not mean the talk of his that you can find on 4jehovah.org or 4witness.org, this was a different audio testimony where he just basically tells what happened to him and to his irish elder friend merriman when they wanted to discuss the rf issue with the gb.
i had this file once but cant find it anymore.

My father views any discussion of the WTBTS as a personal attack on his faith. Do I bring up the blood thing now and risk driving a wedge between us, or do I leave it?

When I was on my way out, I had read The God Delusion. To get a balanced view of things I also read Alister McGrath's "The Dawkins Delusion" (an attempt at a rebuttal). I wanted to see what McGrath had to say about Dawkins' criticism of the Bible.
To my surprise, he made no attempt at defending the Bible. About all he said on the subject was (this is from memory now) - "You know how bad things are getting when Dawkins says that Hebrews was written by Saint Paul."
It was around this time that I realised just how wrong the WT had got stuff. If even the defenders of Christianity disagree with them...

How Does a Jehovah's Witness Prove Their Faith
by passwordprotected innew freeminds blog (with the ability to leave comments!)..
i examine how jehovah's witnesses are expected to prove their faith and what that shows about where their faith is actually placed.. i'd really appreciate your comments, either here or on the blog itself..

Hi Mark,
I think your blog and article is well written and the arguments sound. My concern is that a JW reading it would just go "Of course I obey Jesus, and see how much Jesus trusts the Governing Body - he has appointed them over all his belongings. If Jesus trusts them, shouldn't I."
I just find you get nowhere arguing with a JW. As a wise person told me recently "If you try and take something away from somebody, they only hold on tighter." In my personal experience I have found that just being nice to a JW works better than anything. They are primed to think that "apostates feigning love may try to lead you away from God's organisation". If you don't try to argue with them it is going against that false stereotype.
That said, for those who have no commitment to the religion, your article will certainly innoculate against future infection.
