JoinedI am married to a very pretty JW gal though I never practiced religion. I love this woman for her qualities like intelligence and creativity. In the two years we've been married, I gave a home bible study and some meetings "the old college try" only to find the entire operation boiling down to $$$ for the GB to use as it sees fit with no accountability. I can look at anything, myself for example, in a detached and objective way. In that detachment I see the GB responsible for much putrid fruit. And yet... I have my wife and now child to think about. My instincts are to protect them and act in their best interests swiftly and ruthlessly. While I was sequestered in the early days and encouraged to look in outside materials like "an encyclopedia" for answers to my questions, I acted in good faith and avoided sites like this one. I can be a real stickler for the rules. Needless to say, the deal hasn't been closed up to this point. My wife is getting steady pressure to get me "in the program". After I was placed in a position where the only answer was "OK", I will be making an effort to "retry the old college try". This time I made it known there will be different rules... new rules... to combat "new light". I am not a JW and Oh Boy! let me tellya... After closely examining the GB, I have instantly become Super Zealous Brother #1 for "The Truth"! And I intend to point to the Governing Body as the ones responsible for requiring millions to listen and do as ordered. I feel it is criminal to anchor peoples hopes and fears to $$$ that Jehovah needs for His organization while teaching people how best to inevitably save face for the GB in a well dressed, groomed, calm, polite, loving way. How would you feel having to either listen to or explain how 2+3=4 one year and the next year 3+3=4 and the next year 3+1=5 etc...?
