  How Were You Treated as a Jehovah's Witness if You Had Depression ?

  most of us who were in the jehovah's witnesses for some time realize that for years the watchtower society had always discouraged it's rank and file members from going to see therapists, or professional counselors if they had depression, or serious chemical depression.

  the watchtower society always told us to go out in service more, do more personal study, be more regular at meetings - and essentially we would lose our depression , and everything would fall right back into place.

  the old, " don't worry, be happy " cliche.

  Let's just say I wish I liked myself as much as other people like me. I am well liked but have grown up with a very strong self-loathing.

  I had an elder tell me that the only reason I could be depressed was that I had sinned and was feeling guilty!

  after 11 years out of the job market, i have decided to look for a job.

  i put my pitiful resume on monster.com 3 weeks ago.

  two weeks ago i got a phone call from logan's roadhouse.
