When you were Hard-Core JW, did Opponents Screaming or Filming you help your Exit?
by PokerPlayerPhil inall of us are upset in different ways, some of us are ferociously angry because, let's face it, it's our fault!
i had many clues they were lying about our religion but i failed to see through them because of the pain of admitting we got conned and family pressure from peers stopped me from making a courageous choice.
when i read about people who confronted the elders and won their judicial committees (even though the jw elders df'ed them) my heart goes out to their courage, their amazingly stronger than i will ever be.

I actually was 225 pounds of raw testosterone filled muscle in my late teens early 20s . They used me as security at the assemblies. I was supposed to keep a close eye on the protesters , "above all do not let them get to the stage" we where cautioned. I was brainwashed and the more they yelled the more convinced I was that there message was evil. They were mislead I was convinced.. Boy was I a fool. By the time I was in my mid 20s I realized it was me who was mislead. -

The mathematical probability of spontaneous order (no designer/creator)
by Fernando inthere seem to be many prerequisites for life as we know it.. to name a few: order, function, compatibility, availability, sustainability, intelligence, consciousness, intuition and so on.. focusing on only one, namely order.. what are the chances of order arising spontaneously, by chance, with no creator/designer?.
i have often pondered this and recently came across a mathematical summary of the big picture:.
if every particle in the known physical universe (10^80 particles), participated in one trillion interactions (10^12 interactions) per second, for the entire 30 billion years of the universe's existence (10^18 seconds), then we would by now have covered only 10^110 permutations.. if you had only 100 components in a container, what are the chances that a blindfolded person could lay them out in order on a table?.

There has already been an experiment that proves it is possible.
The Miller–Urey experiment[1] (or Miller experiment)[2] was a chemical experiment that simulated the conditions thought at the time to be present on the early Earth, and tested the chemical origin of life. Specifically, the experiment tested Alexander Oparin's and J. B. S. Haldane's hypothesis that conditions on the primitive Earth favoured chemical reactions that synthesized more complex organic compounds from simpler inorganic precursors. Considered to be the classic experiment investigating abiogenesis, it was conducted in 1952[3] by Stanley Miller, under the supervision of Harold Urey, at the University of Chicago and later the University of California, San Diego and published the following year.[4][5][6]
After Miller's death in 2007, scientists examining sealed vials preserved from the original experiments were able to show that there were actually well over 20 different amino acids produced in Miller's original experiments. That is considerably more than what Miller originally reported, and more than the 20 that naturally occur in life.[7] There is abundant evidence of major volcanic eruptions 4 billion years ago, which would have released carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen (N2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) into the atmosphere. Experiments using these gases in addition to the ones in the original Miller experiment have produced more diverse molecules.[8] More recent evidence suggests that Earth's original atmosphere might have had a different composition from the gas used in the Miller experiment. But prebiotic experiments continue to produce simple to complex compounds under varying conditions.[9]

Individuals are flawed....
Looking at this article it really makes it look like an organization is hiding the situation. Yes, I am studying to be a witness, but at the same time I am allowed by the faith to have my own opinions. When kids are abused and the parents don't do anything that is the parents not the religion. When an a person in leadership molests someone it is that individuals fault not the belief.
As far as letting sex offenders etc in the halls. Can I ask one simple question?
What religion out there does background checks on the members of the congregation.Religion is based on faith.... if you don't believe in one or the other... well believe what you wish.... but why is alright to take a broad brush and say Jehovahs Witnesses as a group.... instead of flawed individuals that are still subject to the regular laws.....

They view refusal to participate in a jc as a request for disassociation. I wish that when they requested a meeting with me that I was brave enough to not participate in their kangaroo court. -

I am amused by my new Job offer

Actually folks the salary I took is much less than the average urologist makes. I was making a point regarding writing my own Job description. Why am I accepting so much less than the average physician in my specialty? It is very simple. I will no longer be putting in the long hours that I used to. This is desired due to my age and health not being optimal. In case you where wondering the average physician with my training and credentials earns $243,000 per year. That is 72000.00 more per year than I will earn. As far as letting everyone know what my salary is , it was in the email that I cut and pasted. All emails from this company include previous correspondence. The thought about letting others know how much I was being compensated did not even cross my mind (especially since I was taking a significant pay cut. This is not something one tends to brag about)

I have just been hired as the new clinical director for a large company. I think the following email from them is hilarious. They want me to basically define my duties by writing my own job description. Take a look at the email I received from them. Either I am a hot commodity or they are the most trusting company in the history of business.

Hi Dr ............,(name redacted for security)
I am glad you and Dan were able to meet. We are excited for you to be helpful in the operations of the company. Can you do me a favor and email me a job description of what your responsibilities will be as you see them? I can then work off of your draft.
I can send you an offer letter and a credit card application. Does Vicki have everything from you that she requested?
Thanks so much (name redacted for security) ! Again we are excited for you to assist us in making (name redacted for security) be the best mobile Urologic healthcare provider!!

My chat with 2 Dubs yesterday about UN membership
by jookbeard ini live close to a resonanbly busy street, 20 odd shops banks, a train station,a couple of cafes and coffee shops etc and usually see dubs doing street work close to the station and i'm now on nodding terms with an elder who is out most days of the week and have got close to recognizing most of the hard core of about a dozen of them , i was walking out of the cafe yesterday to be greeted by a couple of newbies i'd never seen before , a scruffy short dumpy man and a fairly well presented middle aged lady, i'll try and abridge the conversation as best as i can, we must have chatted for about 15 minutes and it was all in a good mannered style;.
me " have you sold many of those this morning ?".
jw guy " oh no we dont sell them we give them away for free" (like i didn't know that).

I love a good debate lol. I however may tire of it, if he can not provide evidence to support his position.
