  Hooberus there is a logical error in the cited work you have provided. The author of the article says that the methodology used to date the site by scientists is flawed. He relates that since radio carbon dating was not used the accepted age of the site is incorrect. He has missed the mark , he obviously does not understand how radiocarbon dating works.

  1 Radiocarbon dating only works on specimens 70000 years old and younger.

  2 Radiocarbon dating needs the specimen to be a carbon based. biological specimen.

  There is an excellent article on this in Scientific American that fully describes the process . Though the caterpillar does break down much of it's unneeded protein building blocks ,it does keep a certain amount of cells that contain DNA that codes for each of an adult butterfly 's organs and body parts. It is important to note that these cells are present way before the butterfly/caterpillar egg hatches. In other words the essential DNA to code a butterfly does not need to change as a caterpillar metamorphosis, it is in fact always present.

  I believe in evolution. I do not think that we are positive about the exact biochemical mechanism of evolution yet. I do not think knowing the exact mechanism precludes that evolution is the most probable explanation of the origin of life. There is a plethora of scientific evidence that supports this conclusion. I believe that as scientific research continues we will indeed have a greater understanding of the mechanism s responsible for evolution. Ie. mitochondrial inclusion in all living cells.
