Do somebody know what Russell taught about Babylon the Great?

i once looked into an old publication in the kingdomhall library and found what russell taught to be babylon the great.

i remember that it was not what the watchtower explains today, the world empire of false religion but it was something else.

but i do not remember the expanation.

On youtube I've seen some explaining that America is Babylon the Great. There are also some interesting videos in the serie Empire of the City. This resembles much to the signs of Babylon the Great which is said to be a mystery.

That's intresting because Jesus and apostle Paul warned about such ones and it is also a sign for the begining of the end times.

Matthew 24:3-5: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU ; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.

2Thessalonians 2:4: He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. :

I can not yet be sure if exactly this man who is 66 years old will be the fullfillment of 2Thessalonians 2:4 or if it will be someone else. But now we see that it is absolutely possible that the man of lawlessness will be a real individual and not as the Watchtower teaches, the clergy of Christendom.

once again our lurking jw friend sent us this latest mind control drivel from the " witness only " watchtower.

remember - this is the information our jw relatives will study in their witness meetings at their watchtower study.

this is what they are currently being indoctrinated with.

Let them try to obey the governing body up to 100%. Then they will reap the fruits. Untill they do not press themselves to the limit in obeying the governing body they won't understand and question their unscriptural requirements. I tried this way and got to do all what they required and came to the understanding.

I was 13. And for me the baptism was like you wrote, Bonafide:

I mean, it really was a special day for me. Even now, when I realize it was for a corporation, to me it wasn't back then. I had no idea about the "Watchtower Corporation." I thought I had dedicated my life to God and was making a public declaration of that by water baptism. I wanted to serve God, I really did.

How does the Annointed that survive Har-maggedon get to Heaven?

just wondering, the wts teaches:.

that the annointed (the 144k) will rule from heaven.bodies of flesh can't enter heaven (therefore the annointed must die at some time to get to heaven).that there will be annointed that survive the big a.that those who are faithful after the big a will never die.if one becomes unfaithful after the big a, they will be destroyed.if all of the above are true, then any annointed caught on earth at the time of the big a will be stuck here forever and have no way to get to heaven.

Here are some scriptures about the resurection to heaven and rapture and the time point:

51 Look! I tell YOU a sacred secret: We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, during the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51,52

15 For this is what we tell YOU by Jehovah’s word, that we the living who survive to the presence of the Lord shall in no way precede those who have fallen asleep [in death]; 16 because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. 17 Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with [the] Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

So the resurection to heaven according to the Bible begins after the destruction of Babylon. Then a 1260 days, also mentioned as 42 months and 3 and half years will elapse during which the choosen ones if they die or are killed get resurected immediately.

But then the rest of the choosen ones will not die but they will be changed from being humans to be spirits. Jesus tells when it will happen in following scriptures:

30 And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity. -Matthew 24:30,31
