they seek to help free individuals from the effects of brainwashing, or "mental-regulating"
If you repeat it to yourself over and over again, you finally believe it.
I'm sure Jesus is thrilled when pedophiles and their supporters claim to represent himNo he is not, that's why he doesn't use Catholics.
So keep bringing your baloney to the boardBy baloney you surely mean anything that disagrees with ex-JWs. Who is twisting words here? If one is a JW, then he must be brainwashed. Again, you must use this logic to excuse yourself and to make sense of your confusion.
a must read!

nice work beans, keep it up!
I don't need to prove anything to myself or to you. The poster on that site only quotes one paragraph each from pages 134 - 138, they ARE isolated quotes. Why doesn't he post all of the pages? What is he hiding? Like I said before, the context will allow the reader to see the real picture.

Could someone post the entire pages of that yearbook instead of isolated quotes? The context tells the real story.
When someone leaves the sect known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society because they have finally opened their mind and done some research on their own, they are amazed and overjoyed
Have you read most of the posts on this forum? While some are overjoyed, the majority are not.
So now they come to thisCelia, dear, I don't think so. When reading most of the profiles of newbies that introduce themselves, this is hardly the reason they come to this forum. Instead they come to try to make sense of their leaving Jehovah's people. They are here to justify their decision that has created so much confusion in their lives.
board to help other misguided souls,
The Dateline showOf couse this is just a dream. No one will stop JWs from going door-to-door, because this is approved by Jesus Christ. You can't battle against him.
will open the eyes of many, and the JWs won’t dare go door-to-door anymore.
The viewer will see the JWs as they really are : brainwashed, misguided followers of a handful of power crazed old men in Brooklyn. No, only ex-JWs will be doing this. What is really expected from an ex-JW? It is common sense to know that they will use this reasoning to justify their leaving. JWs can say the same thing about ex-JWs saying that they are brainwashed. It's really a silly argument. Muslims say that the Americans are brainwashed, and you will of course argue that statement.
When someone leaves Jehovah’s people because of whatever reason, they are confused. This is to be expected because of the lack of Jehovah’s blessing. The person is now alone, shunned by their families if they are disfellowshipped, and in their desperate condition they start wondering if they did the right thing in leaving Jehovah’s safety. So now they come to this board to hear all the complaints, and so called proof of wrongdoing by the GB. They are really searching for a reaffirmation of their decision to leave Jehovah. They work each other up so that they can feel right about their exit.
In the end, they are still confused. Many start doubting that there is a God. Because they don't like the answers found in the Bible, they now start to doubt the Word of God. Many in their desperate need to discredit the organization will go back to believing doctrines spread by Catholicism (i.e. Trinity).
They try to psyche each other up, telling each other that this is a huge worldwide movement to bring the mighty Watchtower down, when in reality, there is only a few hundred posting on this board. In reality, 99% of JWs do not even know about the "supposed scandals" that many on these boards talk about. Jehovah’s Organization is safe. Even the Dateline show, that has been in progress forever, will not do any harm to JWs. Why? Because they will show both sides of the story and the viewer will again only make a decision on who they will believe. JWs will not take the show seriously and only as a an attempt to discredit them, and ex-JWs will glorify themselves as if they've done much harm. In truth, the organization will go on because of Jehovah’s backing, whether this is accepted by ex-JWs or not.
the big headlines in the phoenix paper are about the priests in tucson.
"church hid abuse, victims say".
it was covered over and the priests were moved around and promoted.
Maybe the reason is that JWs don't really hide child abusers in the whole sense of the word. Catholics are famous for just moving priests that are child abusers from church to church. JWs will hold a judicial committe against the child abuser and disfellowship him if necessary.

Valis,
I understand your point. The problem with all of this issue is that even if the abuser ends up in jail, the hurt cannot be erased and the abused still grow up to be downtrodden or "fucked up".
larc,
No I have not shared my opinion with anyone at Bethel. I figure they have already gotten the picture and are working to find a better way to handle the problem. But really if we compare the way things are handled now in regards to child abuser and compare it to 15 years ago, things haven gotten a little bit better.
Mr. Bowen,
Your response is not adequate. At least when comparing it to the accusations you are spreading about Watchtower attorneys Brown and Moreno. You accuse them of lying. I could use your same argument, if they are lying why are they not disfellowshipped. Kind of sounds silly, doesn't it?
Don't take all this personal, like you've taken it personal against the Watchtower because they did not dance when you told them to dance.
I question the way you use those abused as a personal vendetta against the Watchtower.
The truth of the matter is that the Watchtower will not make any changes based on the yelling and whining that you do. The Watchtower only makes changes based information provided from within from members that are honest, humble and not out to destroy them.
Don’t get me wrong. I want some changes made in this area, maybe not to the point that you want them, but don’t use those abused as guinea pigs. I am speaking from personal experience here and that’s as personal as I will get.
Celia,
I agree 100% with you.

They should still report it to the authorities. Like I said before, I wished more states would adopt laws that requires it.

Ashitaka,
Please understand that I make no excuses for the way the abuses are covered up. They should not. The Society is trying to follow the Bible, but in some aspects, such as these crimes, they must adapt to modern Society. This, they are trying to do, that's why where the law requires it, they are informing the authorities about the child abuser or molestor. I hope that other states, even countries, adopt laws that requires the same.
Hawkaw,
I am not saying he should be disfellowship. I really doubt that he is considered in good standing.
The apostate comment is in reference to what his intentions are, shown by his previous comments.
The fact is he did lie to the reporter, but then he dares to label Watchtower attorneys as liers.
I am not fond of those that are willing to use people that have been abused as children for their own personal fights against the Watchtower. These are being abused again and again, but this time by Mr. Bowen.
