Are these the "cop out" clause in the Mill Hill/Porter child molestation case?
by hamsterbait inthe mill hill london, england, congregation was set up as a charitable trust in 1997.. www.charity-commission.gov.uk/library/investigations/pdfs/lonmill.pdf.
having read through the above link, i found a couple of disturbing statements that seemed to be a loophole that "theocratic stategists" may well use to give themselves wiggle room to evade the spirit of the recommendations that incidents be reported.. first:.
clause 4: the total [income of the trust] for 2007/8 was 6, 006, expenditure was 9, 205.. now see what is in clause 34:.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH DISAPPOINTMENT ? FORGIVE OR FESTER ?
by Sad Michael ini'm sorry for ruffling feathers here.
i seem to be quite good at it lately, as my wife has adopted apostate views ( you know what i mean) and seems to have found a new calling in trying to "free" all those who will listen.
i get all the other side of the coin i can handle right here.

If the Governing Body did not demand unquestioning obedience to their flawed and every-changing doctrines, if they did not expect their adherents to practice the cruel 'art' of shunning, then maybe we'd all just go away and forget we were ever a part of the Watch Tower Society.
However, the Governing Body does demand obedience. And they teach that all who leave the Watch Tower Society must be shunned. Even if the leaver is a close family member.
So, yes, we can all make mistakes and in our earnest efforts to do good, end up doing wrong. Sadly, the Governing Body will not face their wrongs, the lives wrecked by their policies and "unique beliefs" and the duplicity of their double-standards. Thus those who follow the Governing Body unquestioningly, i.e. Jehovah's Witnesses, should do their best to respect and understand the hurt and pain and anger felt by us who have left.
There are a lot of broken people here and they deserve our respect and compassion.

Perry said;
I believe that the time is right for educated Christians to reach out to Jehovah's Witnesses and offer the biblical teaching of Salvation through faith alone doctrine as opposed to the heretical salvation through an organization taught by the cults.
I completely agree.

Why can't Jehovahs' Witnesses just be upfront?
by LouBelle ini know there are a couple of jw's that are on here and rather staunch in their belief.
i'm not here to convert anyone but i am here to discuss, share and debate.
why is it then that when they start a thread it's under some sort of guise - not straight forward.

I mean if you have to use deception....what does that say about you?
I think you've answered your original question right there.

Firstly, it's your brother's right to decide who gets to see his son and there's nothing that can be said or done to change that.
Secondly, point out you're being forced to worship God in a way that's unacceptable to you, i.e. by being forced to cease contact with people who are no longer JWs and cease using an internet social network. Point out that no one should be forced to choose between their family and their beliefs. Then plop the July 2009 Awake! onto his lap.

My JW Daughter sends a Letter to us Explaining her Shunning of Me
by flipper inmy wife and i sent my 22 yr.old pioneer witness daughter and her husband a anniversary card and $ 40.00 and flowers the end of april.
my daughter wrote mrs. flipper and me each our own individual letters thanking us initially for the gifts - and then went into detail as to why she has not spoken to me for over a year and shunned me.. keep in mind as i paraphrase some of the highlights to these letters that the only negative thing i have said about the organization to my daughter in 3 years was to show her the ap news release about the child abuse settlements by the wt society .
i'll quote parts of the letter to mrs. flipper first :.
