  I find this answer dauntingly unsatisfying.

  The whole point that you seem to be unable to comprehend Perry, is that EVERY answer that does not fit in with your little theological paradigm will be to you 'dauntingly unsatisfying'.

  Like all fundie loonies, you have a conclusion that is unmovable. All facts, philosophies, viewpoints, and ethics MUST fit in with this conclusion or in your own delusions be found wanting. When you are asked uncomfortable questions, as I did with your 'all are called few are chosen' fairy-tale, you sidestep them in favor of nonsense questions that do not even pass the test of basic critical thought.

  I made up a little award for such a debating style which I called, 'The Knocked Out Boxer Claims Victory Award'. A poster called "Scholar', a JW apologist, used to win the award with worrying regularity, then you came along.....

  Well, I had a nice work-out and now that I have returned I see that atheists have turned and hid themselves and refused to answer a simple question from the all-knowing, all-seeing, Majha Baghwan Shreesh Rajneesh Perry

  Another option might be that posters have no wish to waste their time debating somebody who is obviously deluded enough to turn heads and has an agenda which is not open to critical thought.

  You have been defeated in so many debates on this Board the last year, yet have never so much as winced. This is clear indication of a deluded mind.

  On the contrary Terry has you wrapped in noodles and boxed in logic.

  Now, can you explain why few are chosen? Are you chosen? If so, what is so special about you Perry? Is it that your faith is a little more attractive than those who are called but NOT chosen?

  The stifling of opinion and personality is the stuff that cults survive on. Some people just cannot shake off this whole attitude of 'speaking in line' with one another and not offending lest it be a 'bad Witness', from their lives. I call them the Cuddly Club. The thing these people all have in common is a fear of growing up.

  Two of the most common ill-advised comments made on this Board are the one that claims that 'unconditional love' is a virtue, when in actual fact it is an unhealthy hope, and those who clamor for us 'to all get along', another unhealthy hope.

  I am glad to see that you have broken through that negative station in life. Getting to this point in our exit from the WTS is imo worth all the pain it may bring.

  It is an ambitious shopping list. Fortunately, other researchers have blazed a trail. Patrick McNamara, for example, is the head of the Evolutionary Neurobehaviour Laboratory at Boston University's School of Medicine. He works with people who suffer from Parkinson's disease. This illness is caused by low levels of a messenger molecule called dopamine in certain parts of the brain. In a preliminary study, Dr McNamara discovered that those with Parkinson's had lower levels of religiosity than healthy individuals, and that the difference seemed to correlate with the disease's severity. He therefore suspects a link with dopamine levels and is now conducting a follow-up involving some patients who are taking dopamine-boosting medicine and some of whom are not.

  It is not news that a religious experience can be triggered by chemical means, and by electrical stimulation of certain areas of the brain. The resulting sensation is one that those who claim to have had a 'religious experience', often accompanied by emotional feelings of well-being, hold in common.

  Measurements taken of the human brain during a religious fervor differ not at all between Christian, Indian Fakir, or Voodo ecstacy. What does differ is territory and culture. Those who have had 'Christ' enter their heart, were they living in India, would merely rename the concept to suit their culture.

  A religionist may claim that God can easily manipulate the chemsitry of the mind, but they have a harder job explaining why what they expereinced has been experienced by the primitives for tens of thousands of years.
