....................................... on another note, I read Dawkins' retraction of his statements as being a "science fiction" scenario. All I can say is that it doesn't fit with the documented video of his response. I'm sure that it won't be long for the clip to make its way to you tube. Then, the world can see his "science fiction" response. His explanation is unconvincing to me. I think that he's just playing nicey nice to his skeptic buddies that constantly debunk alien conspiricists.
I suppose that this is the closest we can ever expect to get to a retraction from a person whose intellectual dishonesty is by now legendary. HS

No, parousia means 'presence' in not just Modern Greek but also in the Koine and Classical Greek and this is where Leolaia's nonsense and that of other apostates fails because it is based on a lie. Apostates want to rewrite the Greek Lexicons as they have this crazy notion that parousia means 'coming'. The Society under the tutelage of 'celebrated WT scholars have finally got the right interpretation of the Mathean 'generation' and everyone is happy about that except the 'evil slave' class'.
As you know, the issue is whether the term 'parousia' is more correctly translated as 'arrival' when applied to Royalty, as it was to the Roman Army and clearly was when describing the arrival of Christ in his return. The WTS has long held to a dichotonous view of this word, applying it as they see fit when it suits their particular theology and ignoring its usage when it does not.
Of course you know this but are, as ever, living in never-never land.

I may have misremembered the details of our exchanges, by eMail and by telephone, but I vividly remember his reassuring me, over the telephone, that he was on the side of science, and he made no attempt to distance himself from my sarcastic jokes about 'Intelligent Design'.
I guess this just about wraps up yet another attempt by Perry, who has never been known to let a fact stumble him, to misintepret all he can with cheerful ignorance.

Satanus, Most people except the term "God" to refer to a "First Cause", and therefor not subject to any processes at all. In light of the absolutely overwhelming evidence of "fine tuning of the universe" and life, what else can atheists appeal to except an infinite digression of cause and effect spaghetti monsters? Mr. Dawkins utterly ridiculous statements are in perfect harmony with his world-view.
Perhaps Mr Dawkins appreciated that his comments were verging on the absurd, and in this way was attempting to present a ridiculous scenario to illustrate yet another ridiculous scenario? In a "million years", I never would have imagined that Ben Stein could get the author of "The God Delusion", Richard Dawkins to speak favorably about I.D. (Intellignet Design). Yet, that is what I witnessed in his interview.
Basically, he said that Intellignet Design could be legitimately (in his opinion of course) discussed as a viable explanation for the complexity of life under the following scenario: And, that is if it is presented in the context of aliens coming to our planet and engineering our current life forms and seeding our planet. And he continues, if the aliens themselves were the result of darwinism processes who were seeded from other aliens who themselves were products of evolution, who themselves were seeded by aliens .... and so on, etc., etc., etc.
In other words, the world's formost "intelligent" atheist blesses discussion on Intelligent Design if it comes from flying spaghetti monsters from outer space but pronounces the discussion not worthy if the intelligence comes from God!

Ok ya'll here's my last post for now. I'll put it this way. The fact that some of you have doubts, is tied to the likelihood that many of you have been let down so much by religion (especially the WBTS),
Please give 'some' of us credit for having an ability to reason without becoming entagled emotionally in any of our personal emotional baggage.
I cannot speak for others, but I have 'doubts' in your tale only because your logic is nonsensical. That is why you avoided answering the difficult questions posed to you as to why the angels would go to such trouble to warn one insignificant person of approaching doom, but as I noted, failed to warn the 40,000 women brutally raped in Bosnia, some as young as ten years old, of their own impending doom.
When a logical and morally acceptable answer can be given to such questions, then perhaps 'some' people might review their 'doubts'!
