  i remember on my first of dozens of trips to europe, standing in line to board the ferry that crossed lake chiemsee to one of king ludwig's castles.

  though we were talking quietly, it became apparent that we were a couple of americans mixed in with the german majority.

  Just not taking such delight in insulting people would help to reassure the people who read your posts that you are as kind and supportive away from the board and in private as you claim to be.

  You seem to take a strange delight in missing the point.

  When you are able to deal with the question that I have now asked of you twice, that is, why I do not take 'delight in insulting' everybody that I interract with online, you will understand more than you did before. Given your penchant for cherry-picking posts, your rebuttals are in fact dishonest.

  My insults are all about response. If a person wished to insult me, whoever they are, they must learn like adults to take responsibilty for the consequences of their own words. I have done so from day one on this Board. Do you get it now?

  I am not sure that I can simplify it any further without writing a nursery rhyme about the issue!

  lol....Yes she was.

  Who can ever forget the 'Tina' and 'Prisca' wars. Those two made WWII look like a fruit fight. If I recall correctly Tina sent me a excellent recipe for gnocchi once, though I am not sure where she is these days. If she has any sense she will be a long way from these Boards and their insanity. Maybe she and Prisca eventually opened an Interior Design store....lol

  Are you still an elder?

  No. I got out many years ago. I am now one of 'yer standard XJW athiests.

  Did you ever explain why you chose to be an official in a religion which you did not believe in? I have not looked through all of your threads, being numerous as they are, so I thought I would post my question here.

  Yes, I explained in great detail in numerous other posts. I am certainly not going to spend time rewriting what I did then, but it is all a matter of public record. Despite its more combatitve and vigorous environment, which would these days have the 'cuddly club' weeping uncontrollably, the Board was imo a much more interesting place then. It was informative, challenging and entertaining. It is no secret that I believe that if the chat utility was cracked open again on the forum most of the tittle-tattle and rubbish posts would disappear overnight. The forum to easily used as a chat facility. Your recent posts are a very good example of this John.

  My online personna, honed by years of excellent debate has changed a little. My real life personna has alas has seen no changes.

  There is no better exercise for the heart than reaching down and lifting other people up.

  This sounds very deep, significant and extremely 'cuddly', but others might view this as empowerment. It also presumes that what is offered online in the way of 'help' mimics real life. My own much publicized view is that those who view a discussion forum as more than what it actually is, need to have a chat with the other 'Trevor'.... you know....the one with the dead wife.

  I spend a large part of my working and private life 'lifting other people up' in ways that many people would not have the strength to do. I just do not publicize my good deeds as others need to. I long ago learned as a JW that many people who like to be seen publicly 'suporting', 'lifting people up', and 'helping others', are actually working to draw attention to themselves by their good deeds. Rather like the elder who was always on call to 'help weak ones', all hours of the day and night, but treated his own family like dog waste. This is human nature it is true, but hardly commendable.

  I am not impressed by discussion forum displays of 'support'. They are easy, glib and from what I have seen inspired by many mixed motives. I am impressed by those who post consistently, honestly and are interesting to read. If I wish to 'support' and 'lift up' any poster who needs help I do so via private mail, telephone, or personal meetings where such help is private and can actually do some good.

  Have you figured out why I do not 'crush' everbody that I have interaction with on this Board? You seem to have side-stepped this point, which lies at the core of my 'behavior'.

  You are not hated by anyone, especially not for supporting the principle of freedom. That most of the world seems to think that the methodology used by the Bush Administration to secure what THEY consider to be freedom is alarming in its incompetence, cunning and naievity has nothing to do with JWD, Bring The Light or Who are You?, but has much to do with the slobbering support of 'neo cons' who clearly have blood on their hands.

  You seem to be a little paranoid about this issue, judging from your numerous comments about 'moderation' on this Board.

  Trevor,

  Everyone is at a different stage of development. Has it occurred to you to use, what you consider to be, your superior intellect to help people rather than trounce them.

  Being a straight sort of person both in my online personna and real life, I have a simple methodology for dealing with issues online.

  If a person first attacks what they perceive to be my online personna and not my posts, they better be prepared to be dealt with in a similar manner, as Who Are You has found out. I never take disagreements from one thread to the other, treating all contributions on their own merit. Who Are You? was proved to be a liar and hypocrite on another thread recently, and his viewpoints did not withstand the scrutiny of critical thought, due I believe to his careless reading of other posters contributions. He is obviously a 'little' person as he carried the fallout from his bitter defeat into this thread by attempting, lamely I might add, to insult me in his opening post He must learn to take responsibility for his words.

  I find your posts very entertaining but feel a certain empathy for those who are under your hammer. You know you have the ability to shine on this board without crushing those who try to join in the fun.

  Then Trevor, you need to ask yourself why I do not choose to 'crush' everybody on this Board. It has all to do with response, not attack. I take responsibility for my words, others must learn to do this too. This is not very 'cuddly' I know, but it is that path that leads to intellectual maturity, a road less travelled for Who Are You at this stage.

  If he posts like a dumbass bonehead, then he can expect himself to be called out for it, as have most posters on this thread.
